I would say that's kinda cliche, but when Seth talks about his, there's an earnestness to his voice that really makes it work. You can really tell when Seth is reading through a status-quo scripted promo and when he's speaking from the heart, so I think he can make it work better than anyone else has so far with Lesnar.

What makes it work even more is that Seth is basically the antithesis of everything Lesnar is. Brock was the anointed one ever since he hit the scene back in 2002, and upon his return he got the work the coziest schedule of anybody, he refused to put an effort out when matched up against guys he deemed "inferior" (Ambrose comes to mind), and he gives little shits about the business.
Seth, by contrast, was never anointed, nor did he have the physical gifts that Lesnar did. When he joined WWE he was certainly a highly touted young star, but he was never slated to be "the guy". In The Shield's initial run he was sort of the 3rd wheel. Ambrose was the charismatic mic work guy, Roman the hot tag powerhouse, and Rollins was the workrate guy that did the majority of the heavy lifting in matches. Even when he was champion, he was never "the guy". He was the sidekick. The Vegeta to Reigns' Goku, so to speak. Fast forward to today and he's the guy that wants to be having great matches every night, and it doesn't matter who he's up against either. I mean, he managed to have a good match with Mojo Rawley ffs. He loves the business more than anything and it really comes across when he's talking about it.

Listening to WOR, and Alvarez brought up a good point. They had Seth say that he'd be willing to sell his soul and go to hell to beat Brock at WM and he was left feeling like Heyman is turning on Brock at WM and going to be with Seth after WM (as Champion, obviously). It was kind of an interesting thing they had him say tbh. I'd be surprised if it happened, but that choice of words really can make you wonder.

:hmmm

O_O They better not do that :lol That would ruin it for me if Seth worked with Heyman. I hated it when Punk worked with him as well, lol. Heyman's so stale at this point, he needs to go away. Seth also doesn't need Heyman's help with mic work, so what would be the point lol.

9 years ago tonight I met Seth at the ROH 8th Anniversary show at The Manhattan Center in NYC. The same show that he beat Austin Aries for the ROH World Championship. My friend worked at the Manhattan Center at the time and was able to get me backstage for about 30 mins, before the show started. To meet him before the show and then sit in the crowd and watch him win the ROH World Title was fucking amazing. A night I'll never forget. Can't believe it's been almost 10 years already.

:)

A picture of the DVD cover of that show, which I own (this isn't the actual one in my house, but just a pic of what the one I have looks like. Too lazy to take a pic of mine right now):

Don't know if you guys heard Meltzer on WOR update Rollins yesterday, but he said Seth could wrestle tomorrow if they needed him to, so he's okay. Just resting him until we get closer to the real Road to WM.

#640 ·
This is why I don't trust Meltzer. 2 days ago he said Seth was probably more hurt than WWE is letting on, now he's saying he could wrestle tomorrow if they needed him to :lol Talk about flip flopping LOL.

Also @Showstopper; you didn't get a pic with Seth when you met him back in the day?

Yeah, this is where Dave gets himself into trouble. I heard both statements. But when he said Seth might be more hurt then they were letting on, he said that when they were reviewing Seth's Raw promo where Seth was hinting that this could be his last match. It's like Dave let himself get worked by a scripted WWE promo. I didn't get that. He also said it in question form like, "okay, so Seth has to be more hurt than they are letting on, right?" It was just him speculating, not actually reporting news.

Now, the update he did on WOR yesterday was a news update, where he said Seth could wrestle tomorrow if WWE needed him to. That's Dave's issue. He lets his speculation get twisted into it being a news report. He has to be careful of that.

Also @Showstopper; you didn't get a pic with Seth when you met him back in the day?
Unfortunately, no. I really wasn't even supposed to be back there but my friend kinda snuck me in :lol But I got to shake his hand and wish him luck that night on winning the ROH Title, which was awesome. Also, this was early 2010. Even if I did get a pic with him, it would probably look like crap today since it would've been on a cellphone camera from a decade ago. :lol I'm just happy I'll always remember that night/moment. It was great. :)

Oh wow, that came out of left field. They seemed happy so I'm surprised. Didn't they have a business together or he invested in her business or something like that?

Between this and the minor back thing, if Seth does beat Brock at WM, I think we're going to get an emotional Seth after the match as he celebrates (again; if he wins). All this stuff happening just a short couple months from the biggest match of his life?

:trips8

I could definitely see him getting emotional if he wins, postmatch celebration, which would be cool with me.

Plus, Roman's leukemia AND Dean leaving, two of his best friends going through shit. There's a lot going on for Seth right now, so that moment if he wins the title will be emotional. I'll probably cry right there in the stadium :lol

I posted that interview where he talked about Sarah a little bit. Sounds like his schedule and putting WWE before everything may have caused their split. But like I said, she is a class act and her statement is how one should handle a break up. Publicly anyways.

When y'all throw everything out there at once like that...damn I feel for Seth. So many sudden changes happening in his personal life. I hope he can have his WM moment.

well the "John Cena" curse is hitting the kid, these guys are people with such passion they are ready to sacrifice their own intimacy. in a way he always reminded me of Cena , Cena's shirts that change colors all the time = Rollins' gears , they both got a reasonable push at first, both obsessed workers that have some kind of healing powers lol
anyway if anything it's still a bad thing ( damn that girl got some class what a peaceful breakup!) but it could convince the board of awe even more they are putting the money on the right kid if it's really that he worked to the point they had to break up......sad but I think it's true.

#650 ·
Damn I really liked Sarah, they seemed to be going pretty strong and she just seemed like such wife material lol. Thankfully it seems to be mutual and peaceful.

#660 ·
I completely agree.

Also, as a side note, don't know if it's true or not, but the 'Seth Rollins Fans' twitter account retweeted a tweet of a Rollins fan saying that Brock is advertised to be there NEXT week. So, don't know if that's true, but sounds like it might be.

At the rate they're going with Becky, she'll be out of material in a couple weeks. I'll definitely take Rollins being off TV every once in a while over that. I hope he doesn't wrestle much either. It's best to keep his body protected.

Also, I really, really hope they let Lesnar talk during this feud. During their first feud, Lesnar hardly spoke to his opponents yet always did for Rollins and I found that interesting. It's like he was actually interested in their dynamic and felt motivated to cut a promo, so I hope that returns. I want there to be a lot of throwbacks to their feud before and how Rollins was a cowardly heel but Lesnar never beat him one-on-one. There's just so much potential for promos/segments and I'm gonna hate it when they don't capitalize on it.

This is from today. Seems to be lifting pretty well for a guy with a back issue.

:mj4

If you go to WWE's Instagram page right now and watch their 'stories', they preview Raw tonight and show Seth at one part and ask what will he do on Raw tonight. So, I think he's on tonight.
