The Rusev storyline is actually pretty good
It really picked up and to me everyone involved is doing a really good job .
Lashley finally feels more natural and interesting as a heel, you really can root for him to get his ass kicked while it’s also understandable why a chick like Lana would fall for him.
Rusev with his street clothes looked pretty badass and the fight in the restaurant was well done with the security coming right away breaking the fight etc.
And Lana looks like a slut but damn she is so hot .
For me this is the mvp storyline on raw atm and way more interesting than anything involving Seth/ Fiend/ the 5 vs 5 match , etc

Actually it's the MVP of all WWE but just because it's the only one atm that feels like a story line.

They're all trying to make it work, and I did like what they did tonight. Crowd actually cheered when Rusev said he was gonna go over there to beat Lashley and also when he actually did do it.
It's still dumb, but at least they got people into it.

The ziggler thing didn’t work because it felt unnatural for many reasons.
First- Rusev and Lana were just in the beginning of their relationship and it wasn’t even a public thing . So for Lana to hook up with Ziggler it wouldn’t make sense at that point.
Second- they made Rusev the heel who was manipulating Lana and treating her like shit while we all saw that it was Lana who was promoting Rusev all the time and giving him directions to crush people
Third- Ziggler just doesn’t strike as a Lana type of guy. Lana seems like the chick who likes big muscular guys and not the CrossFit Rollins/ Ziggler type of a guy.
Just a random thought here- if Batista was still active and a few years younger - with his look from his last full time run ( Vs Cena), he would have been the perfect guy to put in this storyline.
His heel persona with his alpha look would have made for a main event feud with Rusev . Too bad he isn’t around anymore

Lashley has good slimy heel charisma, but boy did they miss an opportunity at the restaurant. I was expecting them to totally trash the place and have a massive brawl like the Austin, Booker supermarkets brawls but instead we got the lamest shortest confrontation.l As usual the WWE just are awful at literally everything.

Each to their own but I personally think it is dreadful.
You do not give a romancer angle to one of the most boring men in the history of the business. Bobby Lashley has been playing hide and seek with charisma his entire career, the guy is dreadful.
Rusev is heavily overrated by some also in my opinion. I do not see anything there either and Lana is no actress either.
Not to sound mean but why they are wasting air time on these three when they have a ton of far more potential talent sat in the back getting one week features then disappearing for most of the year at a time amazes me.
There is a lot of dead wood on this roster.

He would have been the best/perfect for this role! I can't even imagine the sheer brilliance of a heel, Dick Batista and Lana in that restaurant. Awesome! :flairdance :Vince

The problem is its such an intense build that they basically cannot give it a fitting pay off. The match would need to be far more brutal than current WWE allows for it to really do the build justice.

You know, now that I’m thinking about it, the latest part timer Batista would have made for an even better storyline .
Think about it: Batista as the middle aged rich and famous sugar daddy part timer who doesn’t have to work and still making more than Rusev.
Rusev as the young hard working immigrant who busts his ass working every day to save money for his family in Bulgaria and to build for his future kids.
Lana as the gold digger slut who would ditch her young husband for a much older guy In order to get fame/ easy life and access to Hollywood career .
They could have segments where rusev is having a match and then Batista and Lana show up on the screen from the Maldives or Hawaii just chilling on the beach in some luxury resort.
Or have Batista show Lana some of his Hollywood friends who offer her some movie roles.
Or them watching Guardians of the Galaxy together in bed and after that Batista telling Lana that it’s time for him to show her his “destroyer” lol.
Batista could also mock Rusev that when he was his age he was in evolution preparing for stardom while Rusev is a nobody
And then the match itself could be identical of the one Batista had with HHH at mania - imagine Rusev pulling that bloodied nose ring from Batista in front of horrified screaming Lana . Or beat the hell out of him with steel chair etc.
The material for an amazing storyline is there and would have made Rusev look like a main event star at the end...
Oh well one can dream
