Why? Because I finally took the plunge and went into promoting and I figured you might want to see some updates from your boy Sharkey all in one place without digging through pages of PCW/IPW:UK stuff in the BritWres thread.

So, here's what's currently on offer with our first show announcement:

Thames Valley Wrestling are proud to announce that our debut show, “Ab Initio” has been scheduled for Friday, March 21st at Exeter Hall, Kidlington, Oxfordshire. The exciting line-up for the event is still coming together, but we’re pleased to be able to confirm the following exciting contests as we begin tournaments for our British Heavyweight, British Tag Team and British Women’s Titles:

TVW British Heavyweight Title Tournament – First Round
Greg Stockwell vs. Andrew “Hammer” Hammersly (w/Lulu)

It’s a clash of the true heavyweights as a local hero – Kidlington’s own Greg Stockwell – goes one-on-one with the cocky, arrogant Hammer in this first round contest. Stockwell will be determined to make the title his own and represent his hometown company proudly, but Hammersly will stop at nothing to get his hands on that gold as his faithful valet Lulu watches on from ringside.

TVW British Tag Team Title Tournament – First Round
“Loco” Mike Mason & Man Man Manson (w/Leah Owens) vs. The Magnums

In our first British Tag Team Title Tournament matchup, the unusual team of kindred spirits Mason and Manson will come together to face Soho party boys The Magnums in the first round. Rumour has it that this match has become more than a little personal – we’re hearing tales at TVW HQ that these guys might have crossed paths in a London nightclub, with hazy details about an unpaid champagne bill and a gentleman’s bet. Hopefully we’ll get the full story at Ab Initio!

Also, Manson and Mason have asked the fans to name their team! You can tweet you suggestions to us (or them) via @TVW_UK, @LocoMikeMason or @madmanmanson!

TVW British Women’s Title Tournament – First Round
Pollyanna vs. Carmel Jacob

In this exciting contest, two of the UK’s top female talents share will go one-on-one for the first time EVER, as the Welsh wonder Pollyanna, fresh from spending the summer of 2013 training with - and performing for - Gatoh Move will face off against Edinburgh, Scotland’s Carmel Jacob. Carmel, who makes her home in ICW, has never backed down from a fight with anyone, male or female, and this contest will be a tough test of all of the new tricks that Pollyanna learned in Japan.

TVW British Heavyweight Title Tournament – First Round
“The Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay vs. “The Star Attraction” Mark Haskins

TVW are proud to present a sure-fire showstealer as two of the UK’s finest junior heavyweights meet in the British Heavyweight Title Tournament. Will Ospreay, in many people’s opinion the finest up-and-coming wrestler in the UK (and voted as such by Fighting Spirit Magazine) takes on local-born former TNA and Dragon Gate star Mark Haskins in what is sure to be a fast-paced, highflying and innovative contest.

TVW British Heavyweight Title Tournament – First Round
“Ultra” Mark Massa vs. Saul Adams (w/Nadia Sapphire)

In another first round match for the British Heavyweight Title Tournament, up-and-coming young star “Ultra” Mark Massa faces one of the toughest challenges of his career. After spending a portion of 2013 battling Stixx, Massa will feel he’s had some strong preparation for both Saul Adams and this tournament, but Adams comes with one thing that Stixx doesn’t – backup, in the form of the self-proclaimed “People’s Princess” Nadia Sapphire. Adams and Sapphire have been making something of a name for themselves as the most hated pairing in Swindon’s 4FW promotion and now they’re coming to TVW in an attempt to capture the gold that’s eluded them so far in the South West.

Also announced for Ab Initio:

Robbie Neill

And more to come – including a HUGE double main event featuring three star names to be announced very soon; one a set of former PWG and Chikara World Tag Team Champions who will be entering the British Tag Team Title Tournament and the other a former WWE Superstar who will be attempting to capture the British Heavyweight Title and hasn’t appeared in the UK since 2009!

Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm bell; tickets go on sale at midnight on December 1st at www.ringsideworld.co.uk and are priced as follows:

Front Row: £14
Second Row: £12
General Admission: £10

So you got Super Smash Bros over in other words. Fine with you having your own thread as long as you're not spamming it up needlessly.

The Super Smash Brothers? I never said that :side: I merely mentioned that I like my guest stars 8-bit and you drew your own conclusions. Clearly.

But yeah, no spamming from me. Be nice to get some direct feedback though - be cool to see what people think/want/suggest so I can get what the people want to the people.
No. I'm officially retired. Too many injuries.
Look into Pete Dunne and Mark Andrews from your neck of the woods.
Mate, it is pretty easy to guess which surprise tag-team you hired. If/when you get big, will you still post here, given you've bashed quite a number of wrestlers.
Ospreay vs Haskins should be awesome.
I'm counting on it. Haskins is a well-travelled world-class all-rounder and Ospreay might well be the best Highflyer in the world right now. It's a potential MOTY candidate.

I'm certain to be calling on them in the near future!

I know, but I can't officially confirm it until the immigration folk sort their paperwork out.

Unless he's on TNA. :hhh2
TNA, Japan... both concerns. We're producing so much top class talent in this country that it's hard to keep track of who will be where! I was hoping to book ZSJ for this one, but he'll be on tour at the time. It's frustrating.

We got some cracking coverage this week - along with the rest of the UK scene - from the boys at The Indy Corner Podcast. Well worth a listen, to be honest...
