I'm not sure if it's just me, but the old thread has become an absolute pain in the ass to open due to it trying to take me ten or so pages ahead of the actual last page. So to make it easier, here's a new thread.

Old thread for those of you who wish to refer back: http://www.wrestlingforum.com/booker/510932-official-btb-discussion-thread.html

~ No spamming
~ No arguing
~ Under any circumstances, NO "WELL EXCUUUUUUUSE ME, PRINCESS!"
~ You can discuss other BTBs here, it's fine. Don't shill your BTB needlessly, however
~ If you have a question regarding "What Should You Do," just go with your gut instinct
~ Use references like google or onlineworldofwrestling for answers to questions you could easily find yourself

Post away.

Would someone be able to move my thread back to the BTB section. Believe it or not that is a long time running booker I personally have been running for well over a year now. It's of a TV show format with weekly shows and repeated announcements casting wise (no similar to signing wrestlers to a roster.). And I know I've not been the most active here because of time constraints which is why I considered bringing it here in the first place.

It's always good to have the big 4 PPV cards in mind day to day. Each weekly show should always be used to build stories, but if you only work month to month, PPV to PPV, then you will fail. You need to build out your main event programs out over months and then plug it into your schedule with the payoff matches coming at the bigger events. I worked with pen and paper and always jotted out my shows in full on paper first and also used it to plan out PPV calendar and main event stories.

Sometimes I feel like this method can have a negative impact for guys like us with a history of not sticking to a thread.

I mean if I have this epic Mania card planned out ready to go, I'm probably going to get demotivated thinking about how far away it is when I'm half way through April booking a filler IC Title feud between Maven and Matt Hardy.

Hello all, I am gauging interest in a concept of a user-involving game that I would like to host here. The concept of the game is rewriting WWE history, pay-per-view by pay-per-view. How it will work is I compile a list of every person who has stepped foot inside of a WWE ring since the year 1985, and use a pre-determined roster number to randomly draw wrestlers from the list. So for 1985, say there is 45 men and 5 women on the roster. So, I draw 45 men and 5 women. Then, following the actual-world's show layout, you guys would vote who goes into which match on the card. For example, for the main event of WrestleMania I, it would still be a tag team bout, but you guys would vote for the 4 participants from the randomly generated roster. Once we book through 1985, and 1986 begins, I would use the roster number for 1986 to determine if new wrestlers join the roster and who retires from the previous year (based on how long their actual tenure in WWE was). Hope that all makes sense. So to sum it up, if you had a roster of Roddy Piper, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Typhoon, and Hornswoggle, and had a ppv that actually only had 1 triple threat match for some reason, then you guys would vote for who is in the match and who would win. So you could have Brock Lesnar, Typhoon, and Edge in a triple threat with Typhoon coming out on top. Is there any interest in this concept?

It'd be great see Legend, iMac, BKB, DDMac, Renegade & 619 etc around, but those days are gone. This section is what it is now. I cant even remember the last time there was a Newsletter done. But in saying that; there ARE a few all time greats around. Szumi is active. KOP just returned. Two BTB Hall of Famers. And you mentioned Nige ... who already has a thread. It's on the first page. That should be plenty of inspiration if you need it tbh.

The issue does not seem to be BTBs being written. It's feedback (in whatever form) being completely absent. People always say "Just book your shows. Feedback doesn't matter blah blah blah" but if you've no indicator that someone is reading your shows, what point is there to doing this? Wack yourself off to your written "talents"?

What's wrong with that? :eek:kada

But on a serious point; I agree on your statement regarding feedback. Feedback is pretty scarce around these parts, and apart from those magical days of 05-06 though, it's sadly always been the case - at least from my memory. Happy to be corrected though.

You don't need to wish the legends would return, I mean, even going back and reading their threads can be great inspiration. I've been reading through Wolfy's thread to catch up before Wrestlemania and want to write myself. I ain't very good, but hey.

Feedback on the other hand, well, yeah, I doubt that something like the BTB awards is possible at this point, but if people thing it's possible, then we could go for it.

(On that note, I don't give the best feedback, but if people wanted too, feel free to PM me with a link to your show and I'll gladly see what I can do.)

I just wanna see more shows posted daily damnit. :p

I am willing to help the members in this section if I can, but it doesn't seem like much can be done. It just seems to me that the current member base is not interested in writing their own shows the way former/older members were interested when this section was really active. Also, and especially this, people seem to tl;dr everything these days compared to older times on here so the absence of feedback is definitely a direct cause in drop of activity.

I do appreciate those like Wolfy who continues to contribute to this section though. I read his BTB occasionally.
