Not on it's own, but it plays a big role on doing so.

Think about it, and then prove me wrong.

Note: I will be wrong.

Of course it has. Nothing is a secret any more. For wrestling to work Kayfabe needs to exist, it doesn't with wrestlers tweeting and wrestling websites reporting what goes on behind the scenes. Plus we all grew up.
How can we prove you wrong when you presented such an intriguing argument backed up with empirical evidence?

Funny, I was going to write something like "I won't even provide evidence or even speak of it"

This is where the think about it part comes in though
Well considering you can always find out the results before Smackdown airs, and usually we all know when a big star will make their return, also seeing Undertaker watching UFC don't help, he's supposed to be buried alive, think of the kids :lmao
internets ruined a lotta things

pro wrestling got off relatively easy compared to say magazines
FUCK YOU INTERNET! YOU SUCK! YOU KILLED WRESTLING AND THE TV INDUSTRY!

I don't really think it did. I mean anyone with basic intelligence knows that wrestling isn't real.

And I would say that the internet has helped a lot of the smaller companies. Do you know I found out that there was a small indy company that ran shows by me? The internet. Because I googled "Pro wrestling events list" I found a company near me and that company has ended up making hundreds of dollars of me because I've been to all their shows since and have brought a bunch of people with me. And every other indy company that I've become a fan of has been because if the internet.

Not to mention the internet is going to end up being the future of the PPV business. I really think ROH is on to something with their iPPVs.

I don't think it was what he means with his question, but that with the internet, we know who may change company, that someone may win a belt, etc...

I think it played a huge role while Cena was champion during his first feud with Randy Orton
The internet has ruined a lot of things
Not going to make an arguement but in many ways I have to agree.
The internet is not ruining anything. It's only forcing the business to EVOLVE and try harder to appeal to the fans.
Not for me really. It made me appreciate the hard work and sacraficies that wrestlers go through to enterain. And it made me aware of indies that I didnt't know even exist.

I'm saddened to say, this is ultimately what's made the biggest change for me. I'm sure if I were 7-8 years old right now, John Cena really would be as cool as Hulk was for me back in the day. I'm sure title changes and surprise returns really would be shockers for me. I wouldn't be able to articulate thoughts well enough to join a forum and discuss all the happenings in wrestling.

I don't think the internet killed wrestling. For me, I think the simple fact of growing up took a little bit of the supernatural wonder out of it. I remember being straight-up scared of Kane when he made his debut, thinking the dude was a legit monster... Now, new "monsters" debut - such as Brodus Clay or Jackson Andrews - and here I am trying to debate with my fellow forum members about whether the new monster has the right "look", mic skills, wrestling ability, etc to get into the mid-card, upper-midcard, etc.

It'd be nice to have a young mindset once again and just react like "Ahhh Holyfuckthatguy'saMONSTER!!!!"

Gonna agree with the statement of knowing what happened on SmackDown before it airs on Friday.

Sucks because I was not excited when Ziggler captured the IC title for his first reign because I read it on Wikipedia on the Wednesday before that Friday night :(

This. Its ruined most things
Not really. The internet is like television. Just because something is on TV, you don't need to tune in. Just because you know that you can find nearly everything about pro wrestling on the internet, doesn't mean you have to open the webpages that contain all that information (backstage politics, twitter accounts, spoilers, speculative discussion, etc.) Internet usage boils down to personal responsibility. You view the websites that YOU CHOOSE to view. Period.

Hulu is a godsend. I can track through a Smackdown in lightning fast time taking the matches and storylines I like and leaving the rest behind. That's the internet improving my personal experience of watching the program, which at the end of the day, is what matters most.

Additionally, if you are under 18, I think it's your parents responsibility to monitor your internet usage/viewing, in addition to TV and movies. I doubt this is happening much however, which means children are growing up more warped today than they probably ever have because of the ubiquitous nature of information (and porn) on the internet and the total lack of understanding or just plain ignorance by their parents.
