Generally, people agree that Wrestlemania X7 was the greatest Wrestlemania of all time. Also, they agree that Summerslam 2002 was the greatest Summerslam of all time.

But whats never really been discussed, is Survivor Series. Which Survivor Series ppv is the greatest of all time?

1. 1998 - Shakespeare booking here with Rock's heel turn and a card full of fun matches with big star power including a 4* main event from Rock and Mankind. (along with the unforgettable Deadly Game theme)

2. 2001 - Greatest SVS match of all time.

3. 2002 - Great card all around, epic debut of Steiner, best EC of all time and typical awesome MSG atmosphere.

2005 was great overall, 2011's main event was amazing with Rock's return. 2000/2003/2004 good shows.

Totally agreed.
Even though it didn't feature any survivor series matches on the card, 1998 was just brilliant drama from start to finish. The only dampener on it was the thunderous chairshot Brisco delivered to Austin.

As for SS PPVs with the appropriate matches, for some reason I always get a kick out of watching the 1991 event.
98 is my personal favorite but as far as from an unbiased, "smart fan"/mark standpoint 2002 is the GOAT Survivor Series. Nothing on that show was bad and the matches were top notch.
I'll go with 1990. The 4 on 4 matches were just so badass.
For me it's 2002, than 2001, 2003 and lastly 2005.

I just couldn't stand 1998, I didn't like the fact that the deadly games theme took up the entire card, 14 matches is overload for the PPV as well, Wrestlemania dont get that many matches. Half of them lasted under 5 minutes as well.
2002 was the best in terms of unbias, top to bottom great card

but 1998 was my personal fav, huge attitude era fan and the booking was genius, i never thought rock would end up winning it and there were so many options going into that ppv, plus a 1 night tourny was awesome

i thought maybe taker/kane/austin, i mean so many options and possible matchups in that bracket, and the way it ended was really shocking, i remember watching raw the next missing the ppv and was shocked rock won
2001 for me
The greatest Survivor match "WINNER TAKES ALL" which boiled down to Rock vs Austin.
Also, that Tag team Steel Cage match was epic.

1998 is tied at top spot, but i could vote for only one.
2002 rounds off the top 3
I'd say either 2002 or 2005. 2001 had some good stuff on it as well.

2002 was great with all top matches with Stiener's return, 2005 was same with RAW-SD elimination match was best match of the night
1888, lol.

I gotta go with 2002. First Elimination Chamber match, so there was the curiosity factor. HBK's first world championship match in years, and on top of that, he actually won the damn thing. Overall card quality was high, and it was in MSG with that awesome side entrance instead of the standard long WWE entrance ramp.
