...is my one problem with Samoa Joe

freakin sleeper hold which most of the time isn't even locked in (like when he did it on Heyman who was too fat for him to properly lock the hold)

...sigh, I know they booked it so it's put to sleep Rollins, Balor, Heyman, then Rollins again consecutively but honestly is anyone buying the "lethality" of that finisher?!

it's as ridiculous as seeing anyone tap out to The Rockshooter (boom! point made. case closed.)

ps: which never happened btw because it'd be so ridiculous

I'm 5 foot 6, fat and I bet if I put a legit blood choke on you, you'd be out in 10 to 20 second. Now imagine the same thing, but instead of me its this 6 foot 1, 280 pound Samoan who also happens to be kayfabe submission specialist whos specialty is this exact hold.

Only thing I agree with you is that he sometimes applies it too soft, but to someone who doesn't really know the difference between a proper choke and a fale one which is most of the casual audience, I doubt its matters. Plenty of other submissions look faker. I'm looking at you Figure Four Leg Lock(the version most wrestlers use). Aka the most impractical move to apply in a wrestling match due to how long and how defensible it is, and also the most weak looking because CHARLOTTE DOESN'T PRESSURE THE OPPONENT's SHIN WITH IT.

this ain't ufc, it's not that the move can't put people to sleep it's the fact that re-name it all they want

it's a freakin SLEEPER HOLD

you know what that move is used for??

to get the crowd involved..

very dissapointed in that it's the finisher..

guess it's a personal thing with me cuz i just can't take the sleeper hold as an actual finisher

here, i'll use a VERY SIMILAR finisher yet is world's apart not just in looks but in impact of actual "damn! that's a killer move"

......Million Dollar Dream (can't remember what that is?)

here's another one.. Cobra Clutch! why couldn't Joe use those instead.. same sleeper just different style but infinitely better (imnho of course)

Its because you've been conditioned that the sleeper isn't a powerful move so you find it hard to buy it as a finisher. I don't blame you for that but from a pure neutral perspective its not a bad finisher. As mentioned before, its very much a legitimate move used not only in MMA, but in actual street fighting as well. So to most people, its not that hard to buy in. It builds suspense, gets the crowd going, can be applied out of nowhere and from and in a multitude of positions. If you can just get over the fact that it wasn't used as a finisher until recently, then you'd suspend disbelief just fine. And even in the past, some guys used to do it too such as Roddy Piper. Just imagine that all the past users of the move who used it as signatures just weren't masters of the move like Samoa Joe is which isn't that hard to imagine considering the submission specialist thing is part of his gimmick. His size helps as well.

Hasn't he been using this hold as a finisher since he started in TNA?

I haven't noticed that he doesn't lock it in fully, nor would it bother me if he didn't (you don't really want him to make people pass out for real, do you?). The move is fine by me. No worse than Undertaker's Hell's Gate or Punk's Anaconda Vice.

It was better in TNA because he used the Muscle Buster right before hand at times like a combo finisher which made it more impactful, but WWE ya know
