Every debate will be allocated their own thread with which to post their debate. As previously mentioned, there is only one post required per competitor. There are no rebuttals (directly quoting/countering your opponent/s) or different stages. Just one straight up debate.

Deadline to post your debates will be Sunday 8th March 2009. Anyone that does not hand in a full length debate (none of this one sentence bullshit please) will be considered a 'no show' and will be disqualified and subsequently be permanently removed from TDL. If you know you will be unable to participate, please let us know asap. We are approachable and don’t bite...well actually I can’t speak for Monty. ;)

Feel free to use this thread to discuss or ask us for any help. Or you can PM The Lady Killer, MrJesus, DDMac or myself with any questions.

Good luck.

I'm guessing you'll argue against.

At first I thought the topic for my debate was a tagline about me or Mac, and I wasn't sure wtf it was about, lol.

But now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not really sure how I feel about arguing it and I don't want to be a tweener on a topic. This will take some consideration, but I like the topic just don't know which way to take it on.

I actually like quite a few of the non-wrestling topics as well, especially the Fedor one. It seems like the aspects of running a multi-million dollar business fail to impress many MMA fans and Shertards who cling to some sort of disillusioned sense of "honor" and "fighting spirit". But, that's not my place to speak this time.

The Japanophile nerds and emotionally stunted prepubescents (and you can find them widespread on Sherdog) typically hate the UFC '*******' crowd or anything associated with Zuffa. Lyoto Machida is a perfect example of this polarization.

Watch the reactions. The casual fan, damn near spilling his empty container next to the TV food tray while doing so, will lambaste Machida's style. 'Why does this guy keep running?'

Contrast this to the hardcore fan. Regardless of how they feel about his style, the hardcore fans first instinct while watching Lyoto is to be interested. Hardcore fans are largely jaded (emotionally stunted), and have 'seen it all'. So this is something obviously new.

It's funny to me that people often rip on UFC crowd's as being ******* hicks. Mostly because the locations in which these events are typically held are not ******* strongholds by any means, and the tickets are damned expensive, which trashers would not be able to afford.
I think the whole '*******' mantra from MMA haters probably has to do with the early days of MMA. When the UFC was littered throughout the entire southeast. Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and Mississippi. Though, they did do a few shows in the Midwest. Once Zuffa took over, that's when they pretty much left the southeast.

Also wouldn't surprise me if Senator John McCain created a smear campaign against MMA. But I was pretty young during those times.

Standard.

Couple of different aspects to it.

Yes, you are correct, it can be when someone who has no hope or survival is, as you say, put down.

There is also voluntary euthanasia, where someone who wishes to die but is not capable of doing it alone is assisted by another. Like assisted suicide.

By all means you can reference animals, but the main argument here is relating to people.

Nice, I think it'd also be a good touch to perhaps but a picture of some of the people in the main event on the poster. Whether it's there AV ora figure of someone who resembles the user in your mind with there name above the head to clarify. Obviously someone could point me out when they saw Macho Man or DDMac with DeNiro, or Cal with his AV. etc
