I shouldn't even care. I'm just a fan, but man I was livid when Punk wasn't main eventing last night. I was thinking before "the WWE title HAS to close the show right?" but of course the cancerous motherfucker that is John Cena main evented AGAIN. Lets look at shit so far. The PPV's since Punk's reign

TLC - Punk main events. Cena is NOT on the card

Royal Rumble - the Rumble should always go last, no complaints.

Elimination Chamber - John Cena vs Kane? Really? After the WWE title ELIMINATION CHAMBER match?? God damn. That's legit case 1.

Wrestlemania - Cena should main event here, the match with Rock was heavily hyped

Extreme Rules - Less of a debate as Mania, but I'm not going to complain. Lesnar back was a massive deal.

Over The Limit - This is quite possibly, the most disrespect the WWE Title has ever got. Cena - Johnny main event? Absolutely fucking awful. I can't fathom what was going through Vince's mind here. Awful. Legit case 2

No Way Out - Cena vs Big Show? Jesus Christ it gets worse and worse. Are you kidding me now? Show vs Cena, same shit we've seen forever goes after the WWE title. Legit case 3

Money In The Bank - This is again, fucking horrendous. A ladder match, with the only reason going last because it featured Cena ahead of the title is disgusting. Legit case 4.

When you count up all the times Cena has closed the show over Punk on Raw, then you get an even clearer picture. It's almost like Punk may be physically holding the strap, but Cena is the real champion. Right now, I'm trying to believe that this is all some sort of storyline. Even Vince, even Vince can't be this bad can he? The battering in prestige the title has got is now ridiculous. I know WWE expect as to forget shit about 2 weeks after it happened, but it can't expect us to forget everything Punk said last year? Eve's words on Raw last week to Punk seemed to finally show that the WWE want us to know what is going on here. My only thought is that this is all a big ploy, leading to Punk finally snapping, and returning to a character similar to that of last year. If I'm wrong, then to hell with this company.

You know what, I never thought of that till right now. After what Eve said on Raw and now this combined with the other times you pointed out I really do think this is all part of an over arcing storyline. Punk keeps getting overshadowed and after a while he is gonna snap and edgy Punk will return, maybe even very soon.

Great post!

No, Punk may have the title but Cena is the real champion in VInce's eyes and will always be the main event. That isn't to say they might not use this as part of a storyline now but it wasn't some big plan all along.
Not the whole time, no. However I am thinking tonight, along with what Eve said to him on Raw and his twitter rant right after MitB that this is a storyline from here on out.

no I don't think so but you know that the WWE management likes to fuck with us. Unfortunately this is all because of Vince not wanting to push something he hasn't created and the master politicking by Master Politician john sheena.

This very well could be true. And at this point I'm hoping this is why he hasn't main eventer... It's a damn shame because he's been champ for a while now, fans love him, for the most part he has done a fantastic job as that baby face Champion, (wish he was edgy tho) and this is what he gets in return... AlThough he usually does have the match of the night regardless anyway...

My thoughts on WM 29 is it's going to be Brock v Taker and Cena v Rock v Punk.

I also think Rock could end up being the ref for Cena v Punk at Summerslam.

I don't think this was an intentional storyline but it might have been something that fell into their laps so now they'll run with it.

It's a good way to justify the sh**** booking that's happened over the past few months. Well we were just trying to ignite Punk's spark back so when he gets involved with Rock and Cena he'll be interesting.

It was not originally a planned aspect, but they realized what was happening so they made it part of his storyline. Last night was definitive proof of that.

At least somebody else is thinking this through, and not just blurting out angry posts. That's exactly what they're doing. But if for some reason they don't go through with that, then fuck knows. There should not be any other reason why the MITB closed the show.

It's a disgrace. They keep bringing up that Punk has the 17th longest reign, but he has main eveneted only 1 PPV, just because they had nothing to do for Cena. But putting the championship match before the MITB match is just a clear sign of disrespect. This literally means that Cena could be wrestling Lil Jimmy in a last man standing match, and he would still be the fucking main event.

I said it before, and will say it again. WWE needs to realise that it doesn't need Cena.

CM Punk
Daniel Bryan
Dolph Ziggler
Cody Rhodes
Christian
Randy Orton
Rey Mysterio

All these guys are able to main event a PPV, the don't need Cena. Give the guy time of, because they are shooting in their own foot with shoving him down our throats even more. If this keeps on, WWE will actually get hurt.

Now Raw is going to three hours. I can only hope that they use this extra time to give guys like Tyson Kidd and other talented superstars who are not making the card a chance, and not waste or time with more useless, cheesy Cena promos.

You do know Cena's a bigger star than any of the guys you mentioned above right. And the reason why Cena main events is that he draws the most money. It's not this bs is about what the fans want, or giving someone a "spot." Plus add to the fact that your WWE champion and your world champion are vastly superior and don't have ANY threats to their title reigns at the moment.

Well if we are getting a Cena/Punk feud then Punk is going to have to turn heel at some point no? What better way then what the OP described, I'd be very happy with it.

Would they really put their #1 and #2 babyfaces against each other in a long term WWE title feud?

Tred softly, it means nothing.

Cena is the WWE. If Cena is on the card, his match is main eventing. It doesn't matter if he's fighting over superstars, announcers, divas, general managers, someone in the front row..he's main eventing.
