Wrestling Bios does cover The Rock's humble beginnings as Rocky Maivia up to his 1997 knee injury and return as a heel, eventually taking Faarooq's place as the NOD leader changing The NOD from a militant group to adding some cool swag to the group, plus his 1998 SummerSlam ladder match vs. Triple H, and eventually moving up to the main event cards and leaving The NOD by the end of '98.

What I'm looking for is the name of the song that plays between 7:32 to 9:45 when Stone Cold beat The Rock at IYH:D-Generation X on December 1997, Stone Cold throwing The Rock's WWF Intercontinental Championship Belt down the river, The Rock becoming an entertaining character, his standout performance at the 1998 Royal Rumble the same night he beat Ken Shamrock earned him a spot as the new leader of the NOD.

I'll just go with his Shamrock feud as thats one of all time favourites. Shamrock taps him out at SS, Rocks still the chicken heel but is pretending hes hardcore (which is great as he didnt even win the belt in the ring). At the Rumble Rock pulls the brass nucks finish and slips them into Kennys trunks for a genius heel move. Kenny then predicably goes batsh1t.
In the build up the mania Kenny smashes through the Nation until Rock gives him the single most vicious chair shot ever to the face. The Mania match while short is amazingly booked, Rock taps like a biatch, but keeps the belt as Kenny goes batsh1t again after murdering Karma Henry & D'lo.It even plays into the Farooq fued with Rock with Farooq watching on as he has a few times while Kenny has Rock in the ankle lock.
Forward to King of the Ring and Kenny finally gets the win tapping out Rock. You can argue it even goes onto the best 3 way cage match at Breakdown where Mankind/Rock & Kenny have a cracker.
I love this feud, the way Rock sneaks out as champ even when Kenny has blitzed him to pieces, where the underlings are constantly doing everything to save the belt, the dissention in the Nation with Farooq, adding in Mankind at the end and even, as terrible TERRIBLE as it is HHH on commentary for the KORT leads off to him and Rock at SS.Great booking, Everyone came out looking strong. Rock is great. Kenny is massively underatted as a scary lunatic. D'lo/Karma/Henry are great as the minions and Farooq is ace as a guy knowing hes about to get usurped but is still laying down the law.
Love all of it.

The moment when him and Steve Austin stood against each other early at the Royal Rumble was a bit of a surreal moment. You could see when they were trading blows they were just a class above everyone else in the match. The crowd loved it. You could see at that moment we had two real global talents emerging through.

Summary of Rock's NOD run= Cream rises to the top, no matter what😎

Some of his stuff in the NOD was amazing, and yet....even though I've rewatched all of that stuff in the last 18 months, I can't actually remember how it all ended?
It didn’t really have an ending. He just got really popular and kind of separated himself from the group, then started to be booked as the number one contender heading into the deadly games.

I didn't like how he took over the group from Farooq, but when The Nation feuded with DX in the summer of 1998, I was all in and pulling for Rock as I hated HHH and DX.

Rock began to shine to the point where he was getting cheered heavily by and during Summerslam to where the company had to elevate him.

There was no official break up. On September 5th, 1998, Rocky teamed with Mark Henry to challenge the Outlaws for the tag titles. That was pretty much it for the Nation as the following week Rock cut a babyface promo on Taker and Kane and basically never mentioned the group again. I did like the group though. I always remember the segment where Rock gave them all expensive watches and gave Farooq a big picture of himself.
