He would of been a good heel if he went back to the 96 style stone cold and was just more ruthless then he was even then.

Foley was turning heel, not Austin, he was going to turn heel on Rock at Armageddon 99 and become Catcus Jack again before being retired by Rock at NWO 2000. Austin was to continue his feud with HHH until NWO 2000 where he would beat HHH in a street fight at RR 2000 and NWO 2000. Austin would pass the torch to Rock at WM 2000 and lose clean before getting his neck surgery.

Austin’s heel turn was reported in the Chicago sun times.

And it was confirmed to be the original plan delayed until Wrestlemania 17.

The dream is having a Russo booked heel Austin vs Rock in 2000. The boom would have never ended.

Yeah it would have 😆 that springer writing was never going to last. UFC and reality TV would have still gotten mainstream and people would have still left.

How was Austin turning heel when he was feuding with HHH through NWO 2000 and Rock was to feud with a heel Cactus Jack who was turning on Rock at Armageddon. Rock beating a face Austin at WM 2000 clean after beating hell Cactus Jack is bigger than beating a heel Austin who turns for one month and then needs surgery. They thought about turning Austin but decided on Foley instead. Russo wanted to turn Taker heel before Summerslam 98 but McMahon vetoed it. Russo proposed the heel turn but he quit one month before SS 99 and they decided that Rock beating a face Austin who would have beaten HHH twice on PPV before WM 2000 while Rock would have won the RR and then retired Cactus Jack at NWO 2000.

The talent needs to sign off on it and I don't see why Austin would ever do that. It would be pretty much destroying his character overnight with no payoff at all for him. When he did agree to a heel turn it was because he got the WM win, a big run as heel champ but here it's turning and putting Rock over. What is Austin getting from it?

Austin was banged up, in discussions with Hollywood execs of breaking into acting this just seems like Vince panicking and throwing out wild ideas to move the company over to Rock overnight.
