In this vid, Austin suggests letting the performers have unscripted promos to better themselves and I have to agree with him. It would make it a lot more real! I bet anyone a million bucks Daniel Bryan's post nxt elimination promos were completely unscripted and you can see what came out of that!

The best wrestler of all time knows what he's talking about. Scripting is a bunch of crap, just give them the key points to hit and then let them run with the rest. And I'm sure there are exceptions for certain talent, but it has to be across the board. I'm convinced that CM Punk's promos are not scripted because they're so much more progressive compared to the rest of the roster.

I would have to agree. Except it doesn't work for everyone like NXT rookies or Scott Steiner.

Yeah man. I'm sure if given free reign it would improve everything, i mean look at the ridiculous mountain punk had to climb to get there. If only Austin's words here, trickled down into wwe and actually made a difference. We'd be seeing promos like the one Punk cut on Raven (which in my opinion was the greatest promo of all time hands down [If you haven't seen it I suggest you do with your appreciation of great moving promos]), and we could see many characters actually become quite good from this. Of course some wrestlers are just hopeless and won't improve from the creativity (Morrison [could be creative but very cringeworthy], Orton [he's never been creative], and probably someone like rey), but it will help others like Daniel Bryan (who has tons of charisma, it was evident in nxt, and countless roh promos i've seen him cut), Alberto Del Rio (same reasons as Bryan with tons of charisma), and probably even Sheamus.

You mean "The reason I hate you"? I assume that's the one, because that's the one everybody points to when talking about Punk in ROH. It's not my favourite promo ever, or even my favourite promo ever from CM Punk, but it's definately a masterpiece and anybody who wants to get better could definately do some studying of it.

Yeah that would be the one! Which Punk promo do you like better? I also enjoyed the one he did after he won the roh title ("The greatest thing the Devil ever did was make you believe he didn't exist" promo), and the one he cut the very next night in the suit lol, which is quite hilarious to see (Him in a suit I mean), and there's a few he did on Hardy that were awesome to!

They should give it a shot. We would all be surprised instead remembering lines how good some stars could be on their own. I think Sheamus can pull it off no problem if he hasn't already done so.

I like a bunch of the ones he did on SmackDown after his heel turn more. I'm not as big on the Indies ones because I don't care about the Indies in general but they're good too. Plus the fact that he did them on Jeff Hardy, who is by FAR my least favourite wrestler of all time just makes them that much better. I just got hooked on him running Jeff down, it was BEAUTIFUL. I think my favourite one he did is probably the Straight-Edge intervention, though, which is right after Jeff left. I know there's nothing really boundary breaking about that promo but I just really like it for some reason.

But what about when 2 or more do promos together maybe some people can do promos from the heart but what about when someone does promos with another person. Do you think it could go as well as when 1 person does it by himself?

I completely agree with Steve. Wrestlers needs to be themselves, that's how most stars became superstars (The Rock, Austin etc).

in this interview talk about Current Product and Attitude era and he doesn't want to come back to wwe because of current PG product with the restriction what to say and what not to say >>>STEVE AUSTIN WOULD NOT EXIST IN PG WORLD >>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UM5gT-izV0A . i have agree with him and i only found 1 problem with Attitude era is some of the stupid skits like Mae Yong-Katie Vick-Sexual Content segment(Trish stratus-Vince McMahon)

Hell Yeach!
Commentary is IMO the best way you can find talents for cutting natural promos.

I remember IWC precious Aberto Del Rio being on commentery.. he was NOTHING without script
