In the old days in the WWF, the only way to win was to escape the cage either by the door or over the top. The NWA/WCW always had pinfalls in the cage, like Sting vs Black Scorpion or Ric Flair vs Ronnie Garvin.
I grew up on the WWF so I always liked the old cage rules, because it made it different from a regular match, and provided more creative ways to try to escape the cage.
In recent years, WWE has eased up on that, now allowing Pinfalls or submissions, rather than escaping the cage.
Which is better, only escape rules or having pinfalls also?
