Apparently Sonyas contract is simply not going to be extended. She wasn't released. They just simply told her that they are going to let her contract expire. I wonder when it does expire. Regardless, I can't imagine them still using her if this is true.

 

That's semantics. Whether you're being released or told you're not being re-signed it's still someone telling you that you no longer have a job.

I agree with the rest, but Sonya vs Athena is perfect for ROH.

 

She's hot, but she can't talk and she can't wrestle, and has very little charisma. Kind of big issues for a wrestler..

I am always of the opinion they have so many names the cuts make sense as it allows those not being used to their best to be able to head off elsewhere, and they’ll be back if all goes well with no closed doors.

But I have to be honest, I am a little hurt by this one as I see so much in Sonya that they’ve never really tapped into. I guess unfortunate that when it looked like she was going to hit it off she had that unfortunate incident with the nutcase, but still. And they have so many women signed, something always has to give.

I haven’t read the rest of the thread so sorry if I repeat anything others have said better than me, but my first thought seeing this was Sonya and Mandy reforming in the Indies.

I'd imagine, as Chief Content Officer, that HHH at least has some input into talent releases. He would know better than anyone, who isn't needed for future storylines or anything.

 

I always liked Sonya but they never gave her a fair push or moment to shine in a feud.

That's a shame, She would've been good as enhancement talent in NXT.

The one that gets wins against lower tier women but Higher tier people beat on their way to the main roster (Giulia, Vaquer, Henley)

It's hard to achieve anything when the head booker strokes to the same select few people.
