I will admit that I wasn't very active watching WWE back when The Miz was getting his main event push. I do recall Miz and Morrison but other than that I really didn't know much about the Miz.
Obviously his push failed because he is no longer a main event guy but I am curious as to what the IWC were thinking about him?

Was he the guy that the IWC wanted to be Champion similar to ziggler or did the IWC despise him not just because he was a heel but because he didn't deserve it?

What were the critics saying about his skillset and mic set back then and besides the Miz what other options were there back then to main event mania?

I agree, Miz got to main event mania but you're right. He was obviously overshadowed by them two. No body cared about the match because of the Rocks presence

No he never got to face Rock for one as Cena would defeat him in a triple threat Steel Cage Match at Extreme Rules also involving John Morrison as well as defeating in a return I Quit match the following month at Over the Limit. They would go in a different direction with Miz as R-Truth was getting over as a heel and was going to face Cena at Capitol Punishment for the WWE Championship and have him face his former protege Alex Riley. Also by the time Miz would get back in the title picture the Punk contract situation happened.

I also can agree to this being how he defeated Randy Orton for the title it makes sense.
