All you guys worrying about Punk losing to Cena a lot in this feud. This is the perfect time to have a feud with Cena - The Rumble is an over the top rope battle royal - ANYTHING can happen - and their interaction at EC will probably be in the EC - which is a multiman match. It'll be Wrestlemania before we likely even get a one on one match between the two.
Personally I'd settle for Punk ruining his shit from here til then, then Cena getting his obligatory win. If Punk gets to look like a pain in Cena's ass for the best part of 4 months and has to lose in return, that's fine.

I'm liking the Straight Edge stuff for Punk. His attacks against Cena seemed fueled by a sort of "righteous anger". Because Cena hit Barrett with all those chairs, and because he was ready to hit Vicki (a woman!) with the Attitude Adjustment. This seems consistent with Punk's character in the past. I also like it when heels are given a plausible motivation.

If they want to push the boat a bit, they can have Punk do a promo referring to that famous Cena interview where he said "I cant tell you I never took drugs".
And the only reason the SES thing "failed" was because of injuries. That angle was exceptional and Punk as a heel is so much more entertaining than he is as a face.

When did Punk turn face? When he's been on commentary he's always shitting on Cena and half the time he shits on Cole. Although sometimes he starts to agree with Cole. It's pretty weird.

agreed, punk has proven what a pussy he is by jumping cena from the back with a chair 2 nights in a row
I fully expect cena to destroy him in a real match without chairs etc. Could be embarassing for punk, he should have stuck to announcing.
I wouldn't be suprised if punk is trying to get popular on cena's back. I mean look at what a feud did to Miz. Cena was Miz's first feud in his singles career and it made him the star he is today, I bet punk is trying to do the same. Won't work though.

As I have said punk knows his career is going nowhere, he tried to become a commentator but he was rubbish and now he is attacking cena trying to get famous off cena's popularity.
He thinks he will become a big name if he takes out the top dog. He has seen how Miz got popular when he first started feuding with cena and wants to do the same. Miz first feud when he became a singles wrestler was with cena. Cena taught him about singles wrestling and taught him how to wrestle in big matches and look at Miz now he is wwe champion. When he was a tag team wrestler with morrison nobody cared about him.
Punk is a pussy though because he is attacking cena with a chair from the back. This is going to only turn out one way, when cena finally gets his hands on punk he will destroy him. I guarantee you cena will beat punk within 5 minutes in their match. Because punk needs chairs and needs cena's back turned, without this he can't do much.

I think that it was smart to make him a heel over a face, but I'd like for at least this Cena fued, for Punk to focus on sort of how Cenas meant to be the clean cut guy but then he goes and does stuff like attitude adjusting Batista off the car after he had quit and beating up Barrett after he had been pinned. I don't nessesarily agree or disagree that those were heelish but I think that they would be good things for a heel to bring up. The sraightedge stuff is a good gimmick but I just think that he should wait for a little while for a fued were it would really add to it.
