To revitalise Smackdown they need to re-introduce a proper brand split, where wrestlers aren't allowed to interchange between brands unless it makes narrative sense for them to do so. This would give the audience a real reason to watch as certain wrestlers they enjoy watching might not have been featured on RAW earlier in the week. Not only that, but it would also lead to less over-saturation of the wrestlers therefore making them feel more fresh.

If you're going for a more pure wrestling oriented show I'd have Bryan, if he returns, as the face of the brand. Other workhorses I might throw in there are; Cesaro, Owens, Del Rio, Zayn, Balor.

Obviously they are just off the top of my head suggestions. A bit indy orientated sure, but they tend to be the better workers and more apt for the brand scenario I was imagining.

Is impossible to me watch a show where you already know almost everything will happen, is far better wait the end of it and watch highlights on Youtube.

But at the same time i gotta admit that many times Smackdown was better then Raw, less talking and more fighting but well...this is a sign of how bad WWE is.

last smackdown episode i truly enjoyed was years ago, but after a few recent sittings, it was like 50% ads, 20% new matches and 30% raw recaps xD that's how it felt anyway. i wish they cut raw down and shared some on the other show

I'm trying to figure out what I think would be funnier: Hearing all of the piped in cheers for SD or taking out the piped in cheers and hearing complete silence for the majority of the show.

If you really want to see an unwatchable wrestling show, try sitting through TNA Impact these days. That said, yes, they desperately DO need to go live, and yes, Smackdown is barely more important than Superstars these days. It's barely even fit to call itself a "B" show these days. Do I need to watch Smackdown to keep up to date with the story of what's going on in WWE? Not any more I don't. And that's really sad. It used to be just as "must watch" as Raw. Even if it was never the flagship. Now it doesn't really matter if you don't watch it. Raw keeps you up to speed with anything important.

SD's booking/writing is done by the guy who once wrote for NXT (Steve Guerrieri) before the revamp while Ryan Ward left SD to handle HHH's NXT.
The issue with SD is its not treated as a solo/standalone show like Raw is and its roster is not specific as it once was so viewers know to expect Raw 2.0 at a weaker level because no effort is made to have SD watchable. Back before his injury/concussion Bryan wanted to be the exclusive star of SD alongside other talent to help recapture the SD-six but it was denied so sad facts are Vince has no interest in making changes for SD.

For years I felt that they needed to scrap the brand split and have one World Champion, I think I was maybe living in the past though, looking back I think I was wrong, while I'm still in favour of the one Undisputed Champion I feel that a brand split would definitely give the show a much needed boost.

I'd change it completely though, give it its own identity, change the ropes back to blue, bring back the SmackDown! fist and do away with the ramp, I'd also narrow the isle down too, dim the lights in the arena too, give it a real intimate feel about it

Then I'd make the Undisputed WWE Champion the only talent on the roster who can show up on both shows, I'd like to see WWE use RAW and SmackDown! like the old territory days in the NWA where the Champ goes to those brands (feds) to fued with their top challenger.

These are changes that would be quite easy to implement without trying to reinvent the wheel, the only problem would be is the 3 hour RAW

Haven't watched SmackDown since last year, damn I feel good about it and I don't regret my choice. It's pretty bad when the anniversary show, an episode to celebrate 15 years, is treated like Main Event. I don't even know why I chose to watch that crap, maybe just nostalgia of the good ol' days, seeing Teddy again was cool, but that was it. Where the fuck were those people who made the show important? Rock? Yeah, a pre taped segment from RAW, good idea :ti Brock? Taker? No one. It was sad AF. Since that moment it was clear that WWE refused to make the show important, that's why I made a choice to not watch the show any longer, I mean if they don't give a flying fuck about it, why should I?

Don't kid yourself, the brand split won't solve anything, the WHC won't solve anything either, it's a lost cause. Nothing will help SD.

It's disrespectful to those people (me included) that grew up watching the fucking show as a kid, it makes me salty as fuck seeing how they treat it like garbage.

PS: RAW is just as bad.
