Hey, i was just thinking, should the main announcer (Cole) for WWE be a face instead of having a heel? I dont know, it just seems a little weird in having a heel, we're more use to and its more common to have a face as main announcer.

Commentators shouldn't be face or heel. They are not supposed to be a focal point, their purpose is to call the in ring action. Cole is taking over the show and is really starting to annoy the shit out of me.

Thank god, i thought people would disagree with me. I remember when Tazz would be the color commentator and he would pick sides or Jerry, they were called so much better back then.

I don't mind if the main announcer is a face and they choose sides. I remember JR would generally sympathize with the face character in the ring during a beatdown: "DAMMIT, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!". Even Tony Schiavone did a good job during the WCW/NWO invasion, blasting the antics of the NWO while still putting over whatever was happening in the ring.

aside from Cole none of the Main Announcer have never been heel it's always been the Color guy i.e Jesse Ventura Bobby Heenan and Jerry Lawler all great color heel commentators

I think they should have a face and a heel to balance it out. I hated Cole, but now he's one of my favorite things about Raw.

Cole isn't play by play now though, so it's fine. He's been fully phased out as main announcer and moved into heel colour commentary.

Its not necessarily that Cole's a heel, its that his character is way too strong to be a commentator, period. I'm sure if there was a good commentator acting as a heel, they could do it right. But in any case, I agree with most who say the color guy should be the one picking sides, and the main guy calls it down the middle.

Play by play is face / colour should be heel or a combo of face/heel. It's a time tested formula for a reason.

I can't for the life of me figure out why Jerry Lawler now has basically no personality when he used to be such a great heel commentator.

Michael Cole sucks as a heel announcer.

The Main Announcer should be unbiased. What makes Cole so shitty is that he tries to be a heel, and impartial whenever he feels like it.
