It is becoming more common here that when someone's push fails, they get a dancing gimmick. When someone needs a gimmick, they get a dancing gimmick. In the rare event of perhaps Naomi (who debuted with a dancing gimmick and has a clearly bright future), dancing gimmicks = little to no screen time and jobber status more often than not. If this is the PG era, why isn't this a bit more accepted? Aren't dancing gimmicks at least somewhat over with the crowd? Or is it just Creative's way of saying "be entertaining, here's a generic goofball dancing gimmick for now until we figure out what to do with you....". I mean, how lucrative is a dancing gimmick anyway? Merch wise? :vince$

See, "Fandangoing" was actually a thing. Fandango himself beat Jericho at WM. Now he's a certified jobber.

Brodus Clay... Supposedly a beast when he was set to debut... got thrown into a stupid funk dancing gimmick with another failed push in Tensai (dancer #2).

Khali. Anyone remember this?

Cole and Tazz are trying their damnedest to sell his debut. He destroyed the UNDERTAKER of all people to get heat. The fucking Undertaker. Now he's dancing with Hornswoggle and Natty (still is?).

The WWE school of dance... where good gimmicks go to die? Another reason why I don't care to watch Smackdown is because Smackdown is the sideshow full of failed gimmicks. That's what it seems like to me. No story progression and jobbers gonna job.

It's better than every other person who has the generic,'I'm a wrestler with no direction,' gimmick. Looking at you Cody Rhodes.

If they can actually dance, I don't mind dancing gimmicks, as long as they stay in the midcard and there aren't too many of them.

Fandango, for example, is fine. He can dance, he can wrestle, the fans dig him. He's a good midcard act. Or like Rikishi for example, he was also a good midcard act with his dancing shtick.

But like, turning Brodus Clay and Khali into dancers is idiotic. If the wrestler calls for a dancing gimmick, ok, but don't smack dancing gimmicks on giants to make them kid friendly.

Making it sound as if that's by choice.

And dancing is fairly topical among the US these days. (more than usual?) Maybe the world. It's a subject matter that's lively and something WWE is wanting to put a bit of emphasis on. It's easy to explain, I'd say.

apart from maybe dango/summer, funkadactyls (which don't really matter since i only respect naomi as a wrestler) and the usos, the other "dancers" can't even dance.

honestly, i'm more impressed by wrestlers who don't have the dance gimmick but from time to time will show off their dancing ability like layla's robot the other night.
