Hell Yeah! Gigantic fan is the Scream series. I’ll see this Day 1!

Interesting fact: my love or film, movies and cinema can be directly tied back to Scream 3. In a prerecorded video before Randy’s death he says in a third installment the body count has to be the largest yet. It’ll be like reservoir dogs all over again. 15yo me immediately thought “there is a movie where everybody dies I gotta see this.”

Jay and Silent Bob had a cameo too which I popped for in the theatre.

Rankings
Scream 1 = Scream 4 > Scream 2>>>>>>>>>>Scream 3

Wes Craven is dead.
Wes Craven being dead isn't going to stop Hollywood from making more Scream and A Nightmare On Elm Street movies. There's still an audience that wants to see these franchises continue or re-imagined. In tribute to Wes, his creations will live on...

Though, they can keep The Last House On The Left and The Hills Have Eyes movies. Don't need anymore of those torture porn flicks remade again.

Scream was the brainchild of Kevin Williamson so I'd be far more adamant about seeing him return to pen the script.

I'm excited for this one way or the other. I love me some Scream.

I was actually watching a video the other day that says Scream 5 will go the route over Ghostface turning into a cult similar to that of a Slenderman type movie with copycat killings since the original plans for scream 3 turned into The Following TV series.

I'm curious what they can do, maybe they could comment on the genre beyond slashers because what more needs to be said at this point?

There's not much they can do apart from killing one of the original members of the cast. I don't think they could do a movie without Sidney since it really is her story but I'm not sure what they could do anymore. They've kind of gone with every angle possible , unless they go with a boring run of the mill killer who did it "just because"

Scream 2 was the best one. Everything was at it's peak. The locations, people in the movie, story, etc. It was very entertaining. Timothy Olyphant and Laurie Metcalf were big reasons for it being great. The movie just had great people in it, like Omar Epps, Jerry O'Connell, etc.

Scream 3 was not that good. I'm not even sure if Scream 4 should exist, but I did enjoy it. So that leaves Scream 1 and especially 2 as the best.

Maybe Scream 5 will have a new cast and new story. No Sidney Prescott.

I enjoyed the 4th one (hilarious intro) but it highlighted imo that the series commentary hardly reflects current horror trends, beyond remakes 80's style slashers are kind of dead.

Maybe they could tease the franchise becoming supernatural? How about in this one Ghostface can be an actual ghost and Sidney hires an exorcist couple who turn out to be frauds behind it all to make money or get revenge on her for yet another thing her dead mother did?

Or alternatively, just fill it with shitloads of social commentary and metaphors?

Wow they're gunna be a 5th? Awesome, I love the Scream movie franchise and bizarrely enough released a podcast today about Scream 1 with a stand-up comedian/actor from the UK

What more story do they have to tell with Sidney Prescott? If she ends up being the killer or dying then everything she has been through would be for nothing I feel.
