So as most of you know, Sasha Banks despises everything about the "Divas" label and the idea of "fighting like a girl." For the last few months on her social media pages, she's been very vocal in her disdain for the Divas title and her desire to restore the Women's Championship. In the "What Divas Want for Christmas" photoshoot, she requested it yet again:

Most recently, during Slammy voting, she's removed "Diva" from her Instagram and Twitter pages altogether and labeled herself a "Superstar":

Edit: Craig has informed me that Becky is going along with the Superstar branding as well. How do you guys feel about this? Do you think she's stepping on toes by putting the Divas branding on blast, or do you respect that she has the guts to echo the majority of us and attempt to inspire change by getting rid of this nonsense and restoring credibility to women's wrestling?

Sasha needs to know her position in the company. She's not in a position to say "no" along with others so she is risking putting her foot in it.

Did Becky have 'diva' in her twitter and IG stuff beforehand? I can't quite remember... She now has 'supastar' listed on those bios. If she did used to have diva, i wonder if they've formed a little gang...

Either way, i respect Sasha for doing this, everyone knows it's a stupid title, it's degrading no matter which way you look at it. Hopefully it spreads, because it would be a welcome change.

I hope it doesn't come back to bite her or anyone else in any way, of course.

I'm afraid it's gonna come back and bite her in the ass. WWE calls it's female workers 'Divas' so Sasha is a diva whether she likes it or not. I'll believe it when she starts rejecting Divas title shots, which she won't thus making her look like a hypocrite and if she does I wonder what her Ring of Honor name will be.

I can always count on you to provide Becky news :cudi. I hope the NXT women do clique up and fight for change.

Things like this is what makes me respect a superstar. When they have true passion and try to change things, and not just "happy to be there" like the rest of pussies in the male division.

If she wants to be change things she should stop doing things like twerking though, that's basically worse and more sexual than being called a "diva".

You know it :becky

We know that they were all asked to move around and fight like girls, which they all disagreed with, in the WWE . com interview with the 4 Horsewomen a few months back, they all said they preferred Women's wrestling over Diva's wrestling... and they all care about the wrestling business, so i'd be pretty confident that they'd all support a potential change and back each other up if push came to shove.

It's quite ironic considering her gimmick is that of a 'diva'. Either way she's playing a dangerous game. For a new call up she really is incredibly bold and brash, and I like that. WWE definitely needs more outspoken wrestlers these days.
Yeah that's what I thought too:lmao

Fwiw Natalya, Charlotte & Foxy don't have it in their bios either and Naomi removed it from Twitter at least. Only people branding themselves as Divas are The Bellas, Paige and Tamina.

I like her attitude, but I'm not sure if it's the best idea? She obviously is one of the best things out of her division no matter what you want to call it, so maybe that will be enough to prevent her from receiving any repercussions for this, if any.

I mean, I always wonder why they even bothered starting to use the term "diva." It's not a positive term in the slightest, and isn't really an adjective any woman wants to hear when somebody describes them, unless they are in the music industry (Diva was a term for musicians with tremendous success, like a Mariah Carey or Aretha Franklin).

The show business term, which is more in line with what WWE is, refers to a woman "with a reputation for being temperamental or difficult to please." Doesn't sound like a good thing to be known for.

Nice to see Sasha wanting to go back to when it was just women's wrestling, even though I find it sort of ironic she has one of the most "diva" esque gimmicks of them all. But I hope it signals some sort of change, and that she leads it.

And on WrestlingForum they say that Old RiC's love for Sasha grew three sizes that day!

Bless her for sticking up for something, especially in a society so jaded that it would sooner shame people for being passionate about effecting change ("social justice warrior!" "political correctness" etc.) than try to improve the situation.

Welcome aboard! You'll be performing as part of the Meathead's division in what we've called 'The Meatheads Revolution' - it's a very strong brand right now so visibility is at an all time high! As a WWE Meathead, you'll be expected to carry out in ring duties in a less cerebral fashion than our female Superstars - you may not be able to lock in those complicated submission holds but you sure can flex those big silly muscles!

You'll also be involved in some back stage shenanigans, fighting over seats in catering and getting into arguments over whose genitals are the largest - you know, guy stuff!

I fucking love that Sasha's going against the grain even though it'd be far more politically expedient to say "Like I'm sooo happy to be a WWE Diva! Oh my God our Divas division is the cutest!". Nothing wrong with having some women there whose only value is eye candy but when you have women who can put on world class fights AND are gorgeous to boot...

...Ah fire Kevin Dunn.

Danger is, she's not seasoned or respected enough to be able to be kind of a rebel. She just might end up getting buried.
The thing about that is, she's still the most protected wrestler in the entire company. She's never eaten a pin or submission. All of her losses are through Naomi and Tamina or via DQ. They are clearly saving her title feud for Wrestlemania: most likely with Charlotte.
