There is probably some truth to what he's saying. I can't find the article now (will post if I do) but it listed six (I think, might be five) reasons for why Osama Bin Ladin administered the 9/11 attacks. All of them were quotes and not just hypothetical and none of them had to do with RADICAL ISLAM~! All of it had to do with America's foreign policy and such, such as the occupation of the Arabian Peninsula for one.

Plus, he wasn't saying that if HE was President that it would have been prevented. He was saying that if people LIKE him were in charge and followed a non-interventionist foreign policy then 9/11 could have been prevented. Granted places like Iran have had bad feelings against America since the 50s, but if people like Ron Paul had been in power since the Reagan Administration, 9/11 could very well have been prevented.

Granted we are discussing a huge hypothetical, but it is still a potentially valid point.

Ron Paul may be insane when it comes to the economy but there is nobody I agree with more when it comes to foreign policy. He is right on with pretty much everything he says. Whether he would have prevented 9/11, we'll never know but I do think that had he been in charge around then things would have been at least a little different.

You do realise there were warnings of an imminent terrorist attack on the USA 5 months before 9/11 happened? They came from states such as France and Russia warning that there was a major terrorist threat on the way. This for some reason was either ignored or not picked up by the government.

Especially with NORAD's success rate in taking down air crafts before 9/11, it damn well could have been prevented.

By the way, RP's economic policy may seem insane to some (I for one think its a bit radical) but his foreign policy is 100% sound. Much better than what the Neo Con's and Neo Liberal's are offering and have been doing for the past 10 years.
