AEW President Tony Khan came out after the cameras stopped rolling on Saturday night after Collision to announce a brand new women's championship.

Speaking to the live crowd in Springfield, Massachusetts, Khan brought out a new title belt and officially announced the ROH Women's Pure Championship. He confirmed that the first champion will be crowned at the Supercard of Honor PPV event on May 2nd in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

There were no details revealed on how the first champion will be crowned or who will be involved. We'd assume that a tournament will be involved, but this remains to be seen.

I swear it feels like I'm getting trolled by the promoters.

My constant complaint in both WWE and AEW is "Too Many Belts." I could write a discertation about why having so many belts devalues the status of champion as a whole, but right now, this shit is getting comical.

Lets have a Women's Pure title! Sure, why not? lol.

I personally see more women's singles titles as an absolute W here.

Now they just need to score that TV deal for ROH first.

Actually, I'd go with Deonna Purazzo here. Deonna is cool and sexy and never got a fair shot IMO. Her storyline with Toni Storm was very good but then the actual match struggled because Toni was still figuring out what Timeless Toni Storm should wrestle like. I think she's probably the best technical wrestler in the field too, so she fits the championship.
