So why did his push fail? Personally i think TNA had the right idea, but pushed the wrong man. Just my two cents. Now they can re-do what they wanted to do with Terry but with someone with more talent like Crimson lol

It failed because he's not very good. Can't fit a square peg in a round hole.

Failed the drug test IMO

well you can't really expect a guy that went missing for months to be over all of a sudden, they didn't hype him up, they didn't even establish where he was, all they did was "oh its rob terry and is with inmortal!!!"

the reaction to this? none...

people didn't care enough, and to be honest... the guy is just a big mountain of muscles, too slow

if they had bothered to hype him, then maybe his push would have worked

The OP is talking about his push early last year.

No in-ring ability, no promo ability, no natural charisma, presence only stemming from his size, very little atheltic ability in comparison to other works on the roster, the usual inconsistent booking, and an irritating hairdo.
Agree 100%, the way he became a babyface didn't help either.

Terry beats than leader of World Elite Eric Young for the Global Championship at a house show.

On iMPACT the next night Magnus forces him to give his feast or fired briefcase to Douglas so he could win the X-Division title, at that moment we see Terry with a pissed off look on his face.

Weeks later pictures are shown of Terry's title win and he's then treated as a babyface, he goes on to squash his former British Invasion stable mates.

If you want to know the real reason, it's because they don't know how to push anyone. When was the last time TNA every got someone over. Quite frankly, some people might say it's because he can't wrestle, but that doesn't really matter. If you push someone long enough, they'll get over. The problem is TNA. Just look at the past year. Jay Lethal was given a push, then he was dropped. Recently Douglas Williams was given a push against Fourtune, and he was gone for like 3 weeks. The problem is that they pack their shows with too much and leave little room for the undercard to get over.

Because TNA has no clue how to book people effectively, Rob Terry if he was in the WWE would be a top guy or atleast he'd be as over as most TNA top guys are, but thats because WWE would push him right.

With a guy like terry there are about 4 effective ways to push him, and by a guy like Terry I mean a big guy with a start quality to him but not much in the ways of working ability or understanding of the business, these 4 are the Deisel push, Batista push, "Big" Scott Hall push or the Warrior/Goldberg push.
Batista Push: put him in a featured group with high caliber performers so he will learn how to work through them, being taught and groomed as the months go by all the while getting over just by association.
"Big" Scott Hall push: Put him in a tag team with a work horse and have him be featured as the killer so he can get over by winning matches and titles whilst his partner carries the match.
Deisel push: Give him a bodygaurd role to a up and coming star so he can learn how to work by being ringside for 8-12 months only wresltling in tag matches or battle royals ect where he goes over and is featured, this way you dont expose him as being bad in the ring until he's ready, and setting up an automatic fued when he does start wrestling with a top worker to again protect him until your sure he's ready.
Goldberg/Warrior push: Give him 3-4 minutes everyweek where he runs through guys impressing the fans at his dominace for 6-8 months before putting him in programs with workers who can carry him to a longer match.

TNA tried but they failed because even being in the British Invasion for a year Terry only had Williams to learn from, TNA's schedule on top of that didnt give him enough time to learn either, and they also never really featured him until like 2 weeks before they broke him off, he went from bodygaurd/lackey who never works to Global Champion in the blink of an eye, there was also no teasing of a break up it came from nowhere so no one carede, and to top it of he just squashed his former teammates before languishing, if they had prolonged the fued with Williams he may have learned how to work a bit better and gotten over, but they didnt and so he didnt.

He lacks the natural charisma that a guy like Goldberg or Warrior had. Heck I don't even think he has the same natural charisma as a guy like Batista even.

He is just a big goof.

Give Crimson a push and you will get results. Crimson has "it" maybe not as much as a Goldberg or Warrior but he is definitely close to a Batista in that dept. Give him that push and watchout!

forget he can't actually wrestle, neither could Warrior! yet he was MASSIVELY over! but... that's because they booked Warrior with the right attitude - he's not a wrestler, he couldn't brawl so why not just book him as a powerful monster capable of simply attacking someone with brute strength, he had a MAJOR personality to back it up which got him over with the crowds, because he went hell for leather and almost annihilated his opponents with the speed and power moves, and then energised the crowd when he was done!

Rob Terry on the other hand has nothing going for him - moves? He's not even capable of throwing a PUNCH, let alone an actual move! and as for personality, Anna Nicole Smith has more personality now than Terry does (and she's brown bread!)
