What was it with these guys?

They seem to have a reputation for stiffing people and forcing them to do things they don't want in the ring.
It's hilariously childish entering into a scripted "sport" to act tough against your colleagues whereas if you were really that tough you could have simply entered into a legitimate tough guy sport, boxing or mma.

Is this why they were constantly jumping back and forth from WCW to WWF during the 90's?

Has anyone seen their WWE produced documentary?

Animal was more willing to do business but Hawk did indeed seem like a huge mark for himself and would often completely no-sell offense in an effort to bully his opponents and put himself over at their expense.

I reckon it had something to do with Hawk's out of the ring problems, as well as their need to protect their reputation since the Road Warriors never had a solid place in any company. I guess they looked at how Bruiser Brody managed to stay over, except Hawk's timing of his no-sells was even worse. He would get hit with a piledriver or DDT, which were devastating moves, and stand back up before his opponent even does.

One of the few times I've seen Hawk punished for this is when Dan Spivey caved in his skull with chair shots after they had been stiffing and no-selling Spivey's tag team partner Mean Mark (aka Undertaker) in WCW.

That was their gimmick...

No selling when done right works well and the Road Warriors did it well. So did Hogan, Brody, Taker, Kane, Warrior, etc.
Even Taker and Kane in their prime would sell. They would act hurt and then get up.
Hawk wouldn't bother selling and simply get up. It exposed wrestling as fake.
Even Hogan would sell THEN get up and hulk up.

It's one thing to do it like Hulk Hogan with the hulking up or The Undertaker because it's part of his gimmick but it's totally different like already mentioned what Hawk did

Hawk especially would say a lot of stuff in the interviews where he sounds mad and bitter like for example how they always hated Vince McMahon and that the only reason why they signed with WWE in 1990 is because they wanted to add another title (the WWE Tag Team title) to their collection.
Well if that's true then why did they sign again with WWE in 1997?
To be honest Animal isn't better, who could forget his interviews where he was shooting against his brother John Laurinaitis instead just calling him and talk to him like family.

Great tag team, unique personalities but as human beings bitter as hell and huge hypocrites
