(( Right to Censor ))

1) Did you like the idea back then?
2) If you did, would it work now and would you like to see it back?
3) Who from the current roster do you think could pull of leading/being in the stable?

Note: I know there isn't much to censor in the PG Era, let's just dance around that sad little fact.

the idea was so great back then especially when you look at how TV was at the time of the late 90s and early 00s , it could've only worked then

would it work now ? hell no .. everything IS already censored

so if we look at it from a kayfabe point of view , the RTC won their feud :D

1) I liked the idea, but didn't like the execution. I think it was the people they chose to play the parts that bothered me, I've never found Richards, Buchanan, Venis or Ivory at all interesting.
2) No. A better idea would be to invert it and have a group trying to make WWE less PC.
3) Swagger. He's better on the mic than people give him credit. As already mentioned, Otunga could do it too, but he's a terrible worker.

I am absolutely aware it won't work today.
I think I'd like to emphasize my interest in Questions 1 & 3.

I agree that the people they had back then weren't so great but converting the likes of Val Venis and The Godafather gave them more heat because they were the much beloved 'kings of debauchery'. I think with a group like that it's easy to get heat by converting 'Super Over Faces'.

Like Rocky Mark mentioned if they were to return they could claim ultimate victory over the WWE.
Along with Xander45's comment I got to thinking about a possible yet highly unlikely storyline. ATTN: I'm not delusional like some people in the IWC I do not claim to be some writing expert, lol, but here goes.

Say Linda loses, which is what we are all hoping for and the WWE returns to a TV-14 product there could be a transitional storyline that goes a little like this:

The WWE still in it's current PG Era 'greatness' has a group of current Superstars dressed RTC style, talk about how their predecessors struggled and apparently failed to censor the WWE and had to resort to working from the shadows they had to rely on an unlikely superstar to help them achieve their goals. That star is revealed to be Cena and they start rolling all of Cena's squeaky clean promo's, Anti-Bullying campaigns, Rising Above Hate etc. Cena comes out to boo's and probably stunned silence from the kids and man-boys to a new theme song and dressed as an RTC drone which is a complete 180 from he usual rainbow attire. Laughs at everyone for unknowingly back their campaign to sabotage the product. He gets the heel turn we all want and it's an angle that's more than just a simple heel turn. It's also a huge contrast to the colorful Cena that has been plaguing our screens for years, and there is a method to his madness, the madness of the PG Era and his painful character. It's a little trickier for me to think up how long the transition lasts and how it goes along. Obviously though we'd need people with incredible mic skills who would thrive in the new TV-14 product emerging to fight the stable that is responsible for the terrible PG Era. I feel it's a good way to celebrate the death of the stagnant PG Era, in more than just 'Hey we're TV-14 again let's get right to it!'. Just a quick idea, doubt it will happen and I don't expect everyone to love it.

We would need some good heels on the RTC side, too as much as a beloved Cena defecting and duping the WWE Universe would get a lot of heat, it'd be nice to have some credible mic skills on the heel side. I wouldn't want this angle to last long at all either, it's just a transitional storyline. This is could be one of the only ways to make an RTC stable seem like they were a huge threat by using one of the most loved superstars as a puppet for reaching their goals.

If Vince wants to do what he usually does he can always have Cena 'FU' them all to hell and rap about it later and win the Cena fans over again, lol.

Feel free to add more or shit on that storyline idea, I'd like to hear more creativity for once than the usual bitching and marking out. Feel free to add your suggestions for the new RTC and those who would oppose them.

They were a brilliant idea, and IMO they were executed poorly. They could have been huge because they were such a perfect heel for that era. Not to mention that bad ass theme that everyone loved.

They were a heat machine and should have been bigger than they were.

I agree, RTC was a huge heat magnet, and an annoying theme (although I loved it) on top of that? It was great, and like I said converting much beloved superstars is a huge way of showing they were gaining ground. They never converted an ME talent though, thus not proving to be much of a threat, like others have said, it could have been much better.

1) It was ok for me, but then again I was really annoyed by it..I guess it worked :lmao
2) It can work depending on who's running it, I don't mind seeing it again though but I think they should do it in reverse. Instead of censoring stuff since a lot of things are censored or like "can't-be-done-in-live-tv". They should do it the other way, do some TV-14 stuff :lmao that can only work that way.
3) Cena, I don't see any other guy that can pull that off. I mean everyone's pretty much has had a turn heel or face over the years with a few exceptions. But Cena, ever since his face turn has never turned back so it has to be him.

Would work nowadays just as good as it did then. especially against a guy like Punk or Orton.

Punk/Orton can cut a non-pg promo and they can come out and tell they have to watch what they say as this WWE Programming is PG and they want to clean up the WWE and make sure it's a family program. It would give Johnny Ace something to do as he could be a mouthpiece for the stable. Throw together Otunga, Swagger, Slater and maybe a tag team and you've got a good midcard stable that they could job out to the main event faces (oh wait, that's every stable since Evolution..)

1. yes I actually really enjoyed the Right to Censors stuff, my only fault was that the stable needed some better in ring workers and for me I didn't like the attire that they wore when they wrestled. The Goodfather and Bul Buchanen were not great workers and yet they were on TV week after week.
2. It obviously couldn't work in today's climate, there's nothing edgy or risqué about today's WWE
3. I could see Otunga, CM Punk, The Miz or Cody Rhodes being a part of RTC. They Could all play the straight face heel role well

I hated them as a kid! I was still in that "what is real, what isn't?" phrase so I used to FEAR that my favourite wrestlers would be brainwashed to join.

It wouldn't work now because WWE is already censored to Hell. It'd be funny if they came back and bragged how they won in the end though.

Cena xD

I took all of your ideas and made this up real quick: I think I'd swap Swagger for Sandow, and I think Punk might be better suited for the fight against RTC, but oh well.

It was a brilliant angle, and Stevie Richards played the lead part to perfection, even with his white socks. It ran for the exact right amount of time too.

It wouldn't work at all nowadays as others have said before, there is nothing too over-the-line or risque for them to censor. What are they going to do, make the divas cover up their midriffs?
