Has Rey Mysterio pretty much retired?

He's had another knee surgery which brings it up to at least 7. The WWE hasn't really done any followups on his injury and he's hardly been on TV in any capacity. At this point he must realize that he should stop so that he won't be in a wheelchair in his 40s.

They dont follow up on his injuries because Rey's relationship with WWE is not good and hasnt been since about 2008. Because Mysterio is a big draw in Mexico, just like sin cara, he keeps demanding more money but WWE wont budge coz the revenue off mexican market for WWE is not consistent. Even last year we had a report on Rey's contract problems.

I'm surprised Rey is on bad terms and demanding more money. He was given the push of a lifetime in 2006 after his friend died..

STAMFORD, Conn. – In accordance with its Talent Wellness Program, WWE has suspended Oscar Gutierrez (Rey Mysterio) for 60 days effective Thursday, April 26 for his second violation of the company's policy.

This is actually quite annoying, mainly because it's his second violation. These things irritate me to no end! Seriously, he's a role model to a lot of kids so if he does have a problem he needs to sort it out imo.

This is exactly what I think, lol. I'm not convinced he's that good of a wrestler anyway to be honest. He hasn't done much in the last few years, his release is inevitable. Probably not right now but it can't be that far away.

Sin Cara, Evan Bourne, and now Rey Mysterio. There must be some sort of cruiserweight injury and drug suspension conspiracy going on. It's a shame too. Their style of wrestling is missed in WWE right now, especially on Smackdown which needs credible upper midcard faces. I hope it is something Rey Mysterio gets over soon, as he is a role model for the kids.

Good. Hope this teaches him a lesson. What was he doing, shooting his knee full of steroids so he can come back sooner than expected? The thing will just break again in a year.

Damn, I thought he'd be back pretty soon as well. Not a fan of Mysterio, but I'm still pretty confused as to why he's done this so close to returning. Time to call it a day, Rey.
