On the latest edition of The Ross Report, Pro Wrestling Illustrated senior writer Dan Murphy revealed the top 10 wrestlers for the annual PWI 500 list which covers June 2016-June 2017. The list is as follows:

1. Kazuchika Okada
2. AJ Styles
3. Kevin Owens
4. Roman Reigns
5. Kenny Omega
6. Shinsuke Nakamura
7. Dean Ambrose
8. Samoa Joe
9. Bobby Roode
10. The Miz

This is the first time a Japanese wrestler has ranked at #1 in the PWI 500 and the first wrestler to not be from WWE, WCW or TNA.

I'll make the obvious comment, and ask why Kenny is behind AJ, Reigns and Owens.
Lol your kidding right? What has he done besides have an overrated match with Okada? The others have all been world champs and carried there respective brand.

Okay well I guess Mahal having the belt counts for nothing?!

This list is trash.

Nak isn't even over.
The allotted time ended just after he one the belt.

Even so, generic foreign heel garbage doesn't deserve any props :)

It's a stretch to even classify Mahal as a "wrestler". He has one move, and botches it most of the time. The rest is posing and a couple of punches here and there.

Also, it has nothing to do with how "over" a wrestler is. Nakamura is completely deserving of his spot in the list because he is one of the best wrestlers alive today. WWE fucking up his booking doesn't change his skill level.

Honestly its weird seeing Miz get some recognition and respect thesedays. After a decade of most wrestling fans acting like the guy doesn't even deserve to be alive, now he makes it onto smarky lists like this! Incredible turn around.
It was a combination of things:

- His promo on Daniel Bryan
- Helping Dolph Ziggler become relevant again
- Making the Intercontinental Championship important
- Carrying the build for WM 33 against Cena/Nikki

Most importantly:

- Having Maryse with him (added a new dimension to his character)

This is why WWE should consider using their female talent as managers. Look what has happened to Almas.

Okay well for all intents and purposes WWE IS Wrestling. So what they decide is what reality is.

You are one of these fans that over rated the Indy guys and once they jump board they fall flat on their dumb faces.

Mahal has the belt and there is nothing you can do about it.

Heard Nak hasn't come back from Japan after that horrible loss. Do you think he even comes back?

Given that this a mostly kayfabe list, I would agree with AJ and Owens being over Omega, but not Reigns. It takes everything that happened between July 31st of last year and July 30 of this year. In that period Roman was only US champ for 3-4 months and main evented Mania, Kenny won the most important tournament in wrestling, the G1, becoming the 1st western foreigner in doing so, he main evented the Tokyo Dome show and became the 1st IWGP US champion. So from a kayfabe POV (not even counting match quality, because WWE guys would be destroyed if they do) Kenny should be at least 4th.
