According to The Times of India, WWE Superstar and former World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali missed out on an opportunity to be a part of the upcoming Hollywood film, Escape Plan. The film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, a friend of the WWE Family, and Sylvester Stallone who, according to the report, offered the role to Khali. Because of his current contract with the company that does not allow him to take part in any third party films, he had to turn it down.

You can check out the report at the link above, however at this time we are unable to confirm the authenticity of their claims. The article refers to the WWE as the "World Wrestling Entertainment Federation" and simply as "the federation", which could simply be a cultural gap or ignorance on the part of the journal. However, Great Khali has done work outside of the WWE in the past, including the 2008 film Get Smart and several one-time appearances in various TV shows.

Did someone make this rumor up just to troll people? I doubt any serious movie producer would have taken Khali (a nobody in the movie world) over Stallone, especially in a role that requires a lot of dialogue from the looks of it. Dialogue isn't exactly Khali's strong suit. And the first ever pairing of Schwarzenegger and Stallone (excluding Expendables 1&2) makes for a good selling point for an action film, so yeah.

He was offered Arnold Schwarzenegger's role. In the previews it seems it is a minor role with not much dialogue.

EDIT, this is the role:
The Great Khali play the part of the chief warden of the jail
