WWE Diva Elizabeth Carolan, a.k.a Beth Phoenix, is reportedly finishing up with the company shortly. According to a source, Phoenix will be retiring in October.

Phoenix made her WWE debut in 2006 as an ally to Trish Stratus during her feud with Mickie James. She would go on to hold the WWE Women's Championship three times, as well as the WWE Diva's Championship.

Phoenix was en route to displacing Maryse Ouellet as the longest reigning WWE Divas Champion in history earlier this year, however lost the belt a week before she could break the record to Nikki Bella on the April 23rd episode of Raw.

Good. I can't take her being misued anymore. Her legacy will be that she proved that Punk isn't really the best in the world because he's clearly not the best in the sack.:lol

Another horse to the glue factory. She lasted longer than most.
*Cue the obligatory Impact Zone reference*

Good for her if true. It has to be frustrating having your talents wasted added with the pressure of being on the road so often.

She had a good run. But she was the stalest diva on the roster and I don't think I could watch her "surprisingly" lose to Kelly Kelly much longer.

Kharma vs Beth. A missed opportunity. Natalya vs Beth. A missed opportunity. WWE just don't give a fuck.

she probably wants to be with Adam (aka Edge) more often. Can't blame her
:( She was really the only diva I cared about.
Sad that they treat quality wrestlers this way. She was one of my favourites. Just when I thought the divas division couldn't get any worse. *sigh*

considering diva matches are a thing of the past i dont blame her, see her going to TNA in the near future.
What a shame, one of the only two divas that can actually wrestle.
Don't care. She's been jobber enhancement for all the model divas and that's killed her credibility over time. People can forget about that Beth Phoenix/Kharma match now. I was never a fan of her but at least she could somewhat wrestle. I'm glad she didn't beat Maryse's reign as the longest reigning champion because Beth had a terrible reign and she was irrelevant through almost all of it.

Beth was in WWE since 2005, and she was with them for 6 years on the main roster. If she would have continued she would have been in the Victoria jobber role if she wasn't already. Beth did the max years of a typical Diva which is 6 years so no surprise she is retiring.
Probably got bored of jobbing to talentless bimbos.
What's Elizabeth Fenix doing in the impact zone?!

I'll take this with a pinch of salt, I'll believe it when I see it.
No suprise, if true. Shame she's going out like that, kind of glad though, i don't want to see her reduced to this.
Thank God she didn't dethrone Maryse.
A bit sudden, and yet not at all. It was obvious she was on her way out, just didn't see her "retiring" from wrestling this fall.

To be perfectly frank, the divas division has gone through an agonizing, slow-motion death ever since Michelle McCool departed seventeen months ago. The glimmer of hope with Kharma turned into a bizarro tragic farce; Layla went out immediately after she tried to turn face, and she's never recovered since (like Beth Phoenix from 2010, eerie parallels); Kelly Kelly was shoved down our throats until no one cared anymore; the "Divas of Doom" who were supposed to revive the division turned out to be the butt of most of its jokes, the nadir of which was Natalya's "gastric troubles"; Maryse was released; Beth was given a Jack Swagger-as-US Champion style irrelevant Divas Champion reign that lasted forever and did nothing for anyone, including herself before being humiliated with that storyline in April and dropping the strap to one of the Bella Twins so they could leave on a "high note"; Layla bombed as Divas Champion as she was given almost no focus and no character development, just a "smiling babyface"; they are now pushing Kaitlyn.

The only ray of sunshine in all of the divas division is Eve Torres, who's been pretty great these last eleven months or so. Otherwise, it's a wasteland.
