Why was this guy never the NWA World Champion again?

Here's a guy who had never been under contract at the WWE. Fairly new to the business, yet already decent in the ring, great look and great mic skills. They could have made their first real main eventer, not someone who previously worked for WCW or the WWF/E.

HAD NEVER. Had never. He was in TNA before joining the WWE. His contract ran out with TNA. He was new to the wrestling fans.

It's sad that Monty Brown left TNA just to get fucked over in WWECW.
To the best of my knowledge, Monty's sister died and he quit the WWE to look after his sister's three kids.

Hardly "fucked over". They treated him with respect, granted his release and had he not left, could have become huge. Suppose we'll never know but the guy was hella talented.

Nobody really knows. He got close on a few occasions, but it's assumed that when Christian joined, TNA decided to give him the title reign instead of Monty. When his contract expired, he and TNA couldn't agree on money. WWE then gave him a non-developmental deal, and he took it.

And no, TNA's first real homegrown main eventer was and always will be AJ.

If Monty was in AJ's place now, the ratings/buyrates/merchadize/etc will be better.

And by the next 2-3 years,TNA would be a serious threat to McMahon..

No they wouldn't. TNA has guys in the company who are bigger draws than Monty and Styles, and they're still in the same place.

TNA also let him go/ never gave him the title, because he wasn't willing to beef up indy work schedule to improve his skills. Monty wasn't really that good in the ring during his TNA run. His squash matches were great, but he wasn't that good in lengthy matches. Also sending tapes to the WWE near the end on his contract (as the story goes) didn't help him (in TNA) either. I woyuld still love for him to come back tho

Doesnt matter about ringwork. Hogan, Goldberg, & Cena are three of the biggest draws in the history of wrestling and they were/are all below average.

Monty had "it," TNA should have pushed him to the moon.

LOL thats why ECW was so succesful right?

So what you're saying is that if Monty Brown was fueding for the TV TITLE, it'd make TNA an automatic contender to WWE when RVD, Hardy, Angle, Sting, and Hogan couldn't? Lmfao.

Monty Brown was a great talent for TNA. He's pretty much a good reason why i used to like TNA back in the day. I hope Monty Brown returns to TNA soon
