I used to really enjoy coming on these forums. A while ago they were the best forums i'd ever been on with pretty good threads going roundand only intelligent posters such as Flash and Nitemare giving their opinions.

Then all of a sudden WE was taken over by piles and piles off n00bs. Now all we have is piles of morons spamming in some of the most ridiculous threads i've ever heard of, arguing with each other and acting like they know everything that there possibly is to know.

Oh well, rest in peace the WE of old, you will be sorely missed.

It's called growth. However, we are going to go through banning ALL morons very shortly. It has already begun, though.

Stick around. Things will get better.

What is really annoying is the amount of new threads people make, especially when it's overdone and in the wrong forum. It's annoying, but...yeah...Good*

I'm glad to hear it, and i'd be more than willing to help anyway I could, but I gotta say, that's one hell of a task, and a thankless one at that.

Once WE got to this gigantic stage it lost the sense of community that it once had. I dislike aspects of this "new W-E" but mostly find myself visting here out of boredom more than any sense of comardary or the enjoyment I once had for the place.

This new generation of WE forum members is a product of the general age and maturity of a majority of these new posters and the hierarchy which they model themselves on. What is left of the older generation either don't vist often enough or don't really care what happens as what they viewed as being "there WE" has long since faded into the distance. Wrestling-Edge has always been one of the popular news sites, who are (and I mean no offence by this to Amish it is just an observation on my part) are all rank and uniform, by which I mean they all offer the advertising pitch (ie. softcore pornography which attracts any male or female wrestling fan over a certain age which doesn't have to be the legal one, these people are of course WE, WZ, PWS, NoDQ and other sites key demographic, while an older group might take there news from PWInsider and PWTorch, these will not take news unless it has been scourced from these) and get there news from the same or similar sources. WE has been a sucessful one.

The forums have for the most part been well run in all the time I've been here. While I have not always agreed with some aspects of how this forum has been run, nor have I been a fan of some of the staff members (and some of them have not been all that fond of me). Of course the general maturity of the forum as a whole now seems to me to be of a low standard (to me at least, but I would put this down examples set by some members and the ages of some members), which is what sends me to other smaller forums.

One always seems to glorify what has been, I would bet my life in two or three years time someone who has just began posting here will say how it has "gone to hell".

Those are just my observations anyway.

in a span of 3 months ago noobs coming in like mybraves and his 4 other name, sikkshooter, bigstank, precious bass, santa with muscles, the hurricane mark icey gregorio plenty of people who come in here and make crap posts about chuck which are unacceptable. Plenty of people try to come back when they are banned for being stupid and making crap posts. When I came on the forums last november no one made anything crap posts about people but I can hardly say what happened in the past years from when I joined but It seems that more and more assholes come o in and screw things up.

I liked W-E in 2003 and still like it now, although I liked it better in 2003.
That's around the time I joined, and I do agree that the sense of community is gone. When you came here you knew who people were the majority of frequent posters were of a much more mature nature than of that we have today.

I love how everyone's saying "the forums used to be great". If it's gotten so "bad" put on your waders and sift through the shit. Do your part by setting an example to these n00bs and show'em how things oughta run.

S'alright in 2007 they'll be saying the forums in 2004/05 were so great. Why? Because they burnt themselves out on it and got bored of everyone from staying around too long.

Yeah...agree with that one there. Every 3 - 4 months I find myself questioning why I keep showing up...but a few days (and numerous bong rips) later...I'm back to the happy clam I usualy am.

I don't know what it is though...but seeing people post so apatheticaly about the place pisses me off. Most people'd say "ya don't like it, then leave". I'll just say if ya don't like it...do something about it. Sure...it requires more effort...but the end results'll taste sweeter if ya do.

There's no reason why this place can't resume what it once had. Some of the faces may have changed, but the heart'll always stay the same. We're a community...maybe it's about time we start acting like one?

The fact of the matter is people will ALWAYS say that the older thing is better than the current thing. Why? Because when you think back in your past, you usually focus on the highlights, and the good stuff. When you think about current stuff, you usually focus on the negatives that are going on around you. Why? Who the hell knows. I'm not a psychiatrist or something. I just know that that's how it seems to work. Past always seems better than the present. I can only assume it's because people try to push the negatives back into their memories and forget about them. Whereas they're more obvious in the present.

With that said, I've never thought of leaving here. Call me a loser with no life, or what ever you'd like, but for some reason I've never looked at this site and thought "wow, this place has gone to shit". I guess it's because I understand how things change over time. Sure, I'll admit, the "old W-E" was better than the current W-E. But that's the past, this is the present. You either suck it up and go through the lows, waiting for the highs, or give up and leave.

Cody's absolutely spot on with the rose-tinted glasses thing.

Hobo, for once, is way off. There is still a sense of community. I think it's probably less so than when you first joined, but there were three members or something then, so it was bound to be tighter (or more obviously so).

The thing is you've spoken for everyone when it's only you. I joined a year after you and remember seeing people then that still post now. If anything, I'd say people moving on and stuff has added to the sense of community. Boffa sticks his nose in once in a while (well, once a year). Rajah's some kind of Undertaker figure (wrestling reference out of wrestling forums, that's a rare thing), popping back for special appearances when ratings require it. Hankey's always there, ready to make a select comment or two.

The sense of community is still here. Like with so much in life, you reap what you sow and only get back what you put in.

Unless you're a media leech or a pervert, natch. :)

I just wished that everyone who complains would leave. I'd ban them but then there'd be even more complaining. Not that I'd care, but I'm not in the mood to go through the BS.

Things are good when you first join. Things seem better. People registering now think the forum is great. Do you know how many times people have begged me not to ban him/her because him/her loves the forums, even though he/she had just registered? It happens all the time. When people get bored of something, they generally leave or complain. People like Jake leave yet still complain (in his extremely rare posts). But he is pretty much gone, something I wished you would all (the complaining ones) do.

Explain to me if it's "so bad" why you're still posting here. I won't deny that I've thought about leaving a few times, but that's because I'm an admin and actually have to do crap on the forums, unlike any of you. Me leaving would hurt WEForums; none of you (complainers) would put a dint.

Back in 2002 and 2003, we had spam. A lot. It was just by regular posters, staff, super mods, and admins. We had fewer n00bs, fewer posts...that sort of thing. However, barring the WMM and FS forums, I guarantee that the ratio of good posts : bad posts today outweighs the good posts : bad posts then. The bad posts are just more noticeable now since there's more of them.
