It appears WWE are lacking an organising idea for the overall product, other than Reignswinslol. The Attitude and Ruthless aggression eras where great ideas to build everything around. You can tell the individual talent, the creatives, the marketing and stage departments build everything around the value of "Attitude" or "Ruthless aggression". Those values worked then, but what would work now?

What organising idea would you use to rebrand WWE?

The NXT generation.

Make all the old farts retire and push the best talent you have regardless of size.
Also push who the fans want and like, just listen to the fans that will bring them back.
book it like NXT is booked. Promos should be written by the talented not shitty writers
the best promos are the WWE.com ones where they can say what they want
that is what should be on TV.

I do not have a recommendation about a specific theme, but the emphasis has to return to storytelling.

That means consistency as to who is feuding, their motives, etc.

At the end of the day when you think to yourself, why are these two guys wrestling, and that is a centrepiece feud, it ruins the credibility of the sport. The whole benefit of being scripted is that you can add value beyond the fight itself, and if you're not taking advantage of that, you're not doing your job.

By "old farts", are you referring to super old guys like Undertaker, Henry, Big
Show, Kane, and Goldust, or sorta old guys like Cena, Orton, Jericho and Lesnar?

I wouldnt really consider Ruthless Aggression an example of the WWE having a focused theme. It was basically Attitude-lite with a shitload of ex-WCW and ECW guys on the roster cause they had nowhere to work anymore. The whole thing was a clusterfuck.

As for today. I really cant think of a winning theme honestly, just them writing better storylines, giving more airtime for wrestlers to develop their characters and get over and if not ramping up the edginess a little, then at least toning down some of the cheesier, goofier aspects of the show.

There has been some talk on here of the WWE becoming more like LU ie embracing its fakeness and becoming a full on fictional drama show. I think that has the potential to freshen things up again, but its a scary step to take because once they do it theres probably no way back from that.

More people than Vince enjoy the product, WWE'S market share is worth around $861,950,000 and they still constantly sell a ton of merchandise and sell out arenas and stadiums. The network has over 1.4 million subscribes so certainly they're doing something right.

They are selling out less and less... Routinely having to paper events just to get clos to the point they can claim a sell out.

And as it stands, NXT will eventually rise above the main roster in many metrics. The merch levels are getting closer, they are slowly building up to bigger venues, and they are already ahead of the main roster in terms of buzz. So either the main roster adapts to that or we get NXT as the main brand of the WWE.

TLDR: do what NXT does.

You all are a bunch of keyboard warriors who would run the WWE to the ground within a single day, if this was to really happen. You know nothing about running a company of such magnitude. You know nothing about their creative process. You know nothing about their management. You know nothing about their marketing. You know nothing about how money works. You know nothing about revenue. A day is all it's going to last.
