I don't know but I don't get whats PG about this product anymore, besides the fact that it says it is.

  • R-Truth's Heel Turn And The Cigarette Smoking.
  • Lawler's comment about Cole " Knowing How To Suck "
  • The Whole Knight Ceremony With J.R. Kissing Cole's Athlete's Foot

I'm pretty sure there's more that I left out.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I don't understand how this product ( if ever ) was meant to be suitable for little kids to watch.
4-5 man stables beating on one person,Divas still come out in sexy outfits acting provocatively,I don't get it.
Just end it already

PG isn't going away, there's alot of shit you can get away with even under PG. WWE isn't rated "U", it's PG, which means Parental Guideness, a child under the age of (13?) needs a parent to watch the show with him. Smackdown in '04ish was PG and that was when we still had bikini contests, pillow fights and people said "ass" regularly on the show.

Will we see unprotected chair shots, pools of blood and live sex celebrations? No, but it's certainly getting a tad more edgy.

Oh ffs fpalm

What was done was entirely PG. WWE are just using it to its full capacity now. Before they were bordering a G rating. PG allows violence, blood and a certain level of cursing and WWE have stopped pussy-footing around.

Since WWE is now all about entertainment, they should be removing PG gradually

Oh for the love of...It's not going away. As long as Mattel is sponsored with them, as long as they have a great relationship with NBC Universal, as long as they continue to partner up with liberal sponsors like GLAAD it's not going away. You people clearly don't understand what PG means in television: Parental Guidence. It's called being edgy; it just falls on whether or not the parent feels like they have to watch with their little kid. So what did they do last night that went beyond the PG rating? Not like R-Truth was snorting coke or cussin' everybody out on the mic: http://www.tvguidelines.org/ratings.htm Didn't know last night was rated TVG.

Oh and if they went back to TV14 it won't make the product better.

Intended pun?

Nonetheless, PG isn't going anywhere. WWE will keep exploring the limits of the PG boundary but won't lift the rating whilst the kids bring in the revenue.

Not a fucking chance. If you pay attention to the WWE's corporate statements and self-description they are trying to rebuild themselves as a family oriented company. The PG era will last a long time, unfortunately.

I get so bored with these threads. Gahhhh.

I feel a lot of those people crying out for a return to Attitude don't even know why. They most likely weren't even alive, or old enough, at the time of the era... but are just trying to look cool. For every extra expletive or violent match, you've got guys sticking meat down their pants, or guys fucking corpses. I know what I'd rather see.

Being in that arena last night and seeing all the little kids' faces, their Cena shirts hanging off them for they're three sizes too big... that's what makes for a good time for me. It's pure entertainment, kids getting together with mum and dad, and us older types not being cynical enough to deprive ourselves of a good time.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO WATCH WWE.

If you want intensity, watch ROH. If you want repeated utterances of "asshole" and tiresome amounts of blood, watch that trainwreck TNA.

But you won't because they're not mainstream enough for you.

The former two are self-restricted by WWE on health grounds and the writer behind the latter should've been fired.

As has been said, WWE can do lots with a PG rating. But unless the writing improves, you won't get a better show, no matter the rating - whether it's Hornswoggle and JBL is poopy, or Katie Vick and choppy-pee-pee.

PG will be around for some time yet. Like people have said they are just pushing to the boundaries that PG will allow them.

People need to give up with this fantasy that WWE will be like the attitude era again though.

I mean yeah the attitude era was great but WWE is in a different place now. They have no serious competition and they have a steady and constant audience (i.e children). They are also reported to be making masses of profit from sales and merchandising too.

So from there point of view they don't need to push what they are producing at the moment.

It just so happens that the best time period in wrestling was rated TV14?

If they go back to TV14 at least we'll see some more skin from the Divas. Plus, being able to curse more adds SO MUCH to your dialogue. Imagine if Rocky was never allowed to curse. Candybutt? Someitch? Same with Austin. These guys are grown men. Speak like one.

In defense of the of the "choppy-choppy-pee-pee" segment, it was at least funny as fuck and makes me laugh my ass off every time I watch it, to this day. Hornwoggle and guys like Khali make me cringe and change the channel every time I see them on my TV.

How much more skin do you need? They're practically naked. There isn't much difference between what the women in TNA wear and the women in WWE wear.

Not all grown men curse. I mean, I do personally, but the assumption that cursing equals talking like an adult is ridiculous.

Yeah, they started pushing the boundaries of PG when the Rock came back, and realised that none of the kids were bothered that he swore. Its obviously not breaking PG, but yeah it really is pushing it, to the extent that Sky added in extra adverts to stop UK viewers from seeing smoking, despite the fact it airs from 2-4am over here.

Wow talk about tossing your opinion around as a fact. Who died and made the Attitude Era the best era? Also even the years after the AE were TV14 i.e. 2002-2008.

So yeah stop trying to make your opinion sound as a fact. Some people prefer the colourful characters of the 80s which IMO offered more content that the AE characters.

If they go back to TV14 at least we'll see some more skin from the Divas.
Oh yes that will make the Divas division more respectable and that will make people take it more seriously. One reason why many wrestling purists criticized the AE women's division was that they were all about showing skin, not talent. Seriously what are you 12?

That's the prob with the Divas- they don't show enough skin

Plus, being able to curse more adds SO MUCH to your dialogue. Imagine if Rocky was never allowed to curse. Candybutt? Someitch? Same with Austin. These guys are grown men. Speak like one.
Ok, ok, ok! Stop there buddy put your foot on the brakes cause if you keep pressing on the gas you're gonna drive yourself off a cliff. Speak like a big man? They're a lot of grown ass men who don't curse. Also how does cursing make the fucking dialogue better. Does me cursing you right now come off as smart or immature?

Toy Story 3has no cursing and has 100 times the dialogue SAW would ever have.

Seriously, I assume you're a grown ass man stop sounding like some 12 year old kid who's balls recently dropped.
