I don't like it. It looks like it was meant to be something simple but it kind of fails. You could've used a font&effect that actually matched and looks good. I guess the cross hatching on the logo is good. I can still see some great at the top.
Try using a better font and don't use that effect.

How'd u make it so you didn't have a border or whatever?

I dont really like it. The Eagles are my team but this just doesnt look right. The text doesnt go well with the logo and i dont like the effect on the logo

Looks like, logo, black text, outer & inner glow and a drop shadow w/ opacity tuned down. Logo looks like it was partially tuned down as well.

It's simple, yet boring. Try some better effects on it, maybe a gaussian blur on the logo and some more effects on the text. :/
