... no baseball player ever took steroids.

Just for this, just pretend that Barry Bonds hit all his homeruns with natural ability. Same with A-Rod, McGwire, Clemens, etc.

Every homerun ever hit and every pitch ever thrown was done with a player's natural ability.

What I meant was to rank the top players ever, assuming no player ever took steroids.

That means you look at all players' accomplishments as if they never used steroids, even though some did.

Barry Bonds 73 Home Run season- done with his natural ability alone

Roger Clemens' 7 Cy Youngs- All earned legitimately, never took roids

Etc.

1 - Babe Ruth
2 - Lou Gehrig
3 - Ted Williams
4 - Ty Cobb
5 - Ken Griffey Jr

Griffey would of passed Mays as best all around player ever. His injuries were really unfortunate. Cobb was a cunt, but his stats are crazy. Ted Williams would of hit 700 HR's if he didn't lose so many prime years to two wars. Gehrig was insanely good, only overshadowed by the undisputed GOAT of baseball.

Not sure which pitchers I would take.

When Cobb died, 3 people attended his funeral.
I think they're are also rumors he killed a man. Yet they won't put Pete Rose in the Hall of Fame? :lmao

If only he would have taken a tombstone or two on home plate.

Clemens would definitely be top ten. My hatred for Bonds won't allow me to look at him objectively. McGwire had the best HR per at bat ratio so he would have to be considered.

Assuming no one took steroids, I'm considering Clemente didn't die in a plane crash in the off season, and Ichiro played his entire career in the US :kobe
Ichiro as well.

Something like that for the top 25, I'd say.

Cobb was a brutish, vicious man, and sportswriter Fred Lieb claimed that both Speaker and Hornsby told him they were members of the KKK. Then there's A-Rod. (Just kiddin'.)
