When I 1st started watching wrestling around Late '90/Early '91, this gimmick was my introduction to Randy Savage.

What are your thoughts on the gimmick?

Back then, guys were only "King" of the WWE for a few months, maybe a year then they lost the crown to someone else.

But Randy held the crown for almost two years and was awesome! He turned a silly, goofy gimmick held by mid-card guys, or guys at the end of their career like Harley Race and made it amazing.

I loved they way they had jobbers carry he and Queen Sherri on a throne on the way to the ring.

Some great Macho King moments.

I loved the way they brought the gimmick back with King Booker, too.

I always thought the Macho King gimmick was awesome, Savage made it seem like being king was the top of the company and that even the WWF Championship was below him until he started wanting a title shot against Warrior.

It was nice that it was a combination of two gimmicks, in a way. Usually when it comes to winning the crown, you just add the name KING to someone's first or last name. But the Macho Man became the Macho King, making it a wee bit unique and badass sounding.

This was when Randy Savage jumped the shark. I personally hated this phase of Savage who was in my top 5 from 1985 till this King gimmick.
