could you get more points for having a popular thread.for example,one with a lot of posts.

if you dont, i think you should do that.

Used to be that if you started a thread, you got point incriments(SP?) for the first 5 or so replies. (5 for the first, 4 for the second, etc)

That was a while ago and not the case anymore. Not privy to the reason neither.

It's perfectly easy to accumulate points by posting normally and sensibly. There's not a huge amount you can do with them, and there's not exactly a need for them either, really. Also, putting them in the bank will make the accrue interest, so that's worth considering.
