My point, is that Punks, or supposed Punks, have the most contradictriary hippocrital corrupt belief systems i've ever seen!

I look around and I see punk divided into 3 categories, you got the pop punk kids, little children who don't have enough personality to make friends, so they slap on a band shirt buy a few badges and impress some girls/boys.

Then you got the stoner punk kids, who seemingly justify their short comings and frankly dumbass behaviour with weed and are basically the cool version of alcoholics.

Then you got the "true" punkers. And yes, it's the "true" punkers I'm going to talk about in length, remember that person you met online once that laughed at your favourite bands as you listed them off? Remember that person who took one look at your hoodie and decided your personality name and rank by 4-6 letters across your chest? I thought the ideals of punk were to not judge and never be judged, then why do punks shout at cops without getting to know the inner them (ha). It's so fucking popular to be punk at the moment, that it's not alternate anymore, it's mainstream. It's not even to do with music anymore, the only thing the punks want to know is the names of the bands your into like there's some magic code of acceptance. Blink 182 gave pop punk a lifestyle and Jackass begged everyone to join in. If Punk is being rash to everyone who doesn't look like you, and doesn't act like you then dude Punk is the same as being a townie with a change of language and clothes. If Punk is being the biggest townie(jock/prep to you american people) you can be, surely thats a contradiction. I dont find my justification of who i am by wrapping some chains around my body wearing baggies and flipping you off, I'd rather be a fucking trendy any day. Since when has punk been a competition? It's like all that matters to these people is if you're cool by what bands you listen too, how you dress, what you smoke, if you skate. If punk is an attitude then I'd rather be a clone. Where the fuck is my cotton tank top? If punk's about being the biggest asshole you can be for some kind've alternate macho kick I'll take a ruler and measure my dick before i stoop to that level, or better yet we could piss over a fucking wall, they're both less childish than fakeing issues and running with a grudge that pits you against the world. Sure it's fun to shout the slogans, sure it's great to quote the lyrics but try to fucking live it. You live what your bands preach and come back to me, and I promise you, you wont call yourself "punk". Wake the fuck up and give me a break.

Too Fucking right mate.

These guys were fucking idiots. Cutting their arms with razors, getting all their "bits" peirced, the works.

It was so bad before I left school there more or less a gang war at the end of term. In year 11 (last year) you had more or less a 50/50 split of "Punk" and "Trendy" people. I say 50/50 because there was a small minority which I am a part of (about 25 out of about 750) that were neither. Most of these pople stayed off that day, about 5 went. Everything went well until about 12:30 (Break for dinner). This was the time around 50 (25ish each) decided to have the fight. It was fucking chaos! The funny thing was people in the lower years joined in to beat up the "Punks". It was too fucking much to handle and the five that stayed out of it were pissing our pants with laughter.

That'll teach the freaks!

I just say that punks are generally dumb. Anyone who associates themself with a label, or anyone who allows people to label them, probably is. That's why I like to gut people and feed their intestines to my dog. And why religion is complete bullshit.

That's nothing in stereotyping.
A tabloid newspaper printed a feature which stereotyped just about everything that teenagers are.
It catergorised skaters, moshers and everythings clothes, music, and where your are most likely to find them.
For example, it said sk8rs (How it was spelt) all listen to Avril & Sum 41 for example, when this is wrong. I know several skaters and all of them hate Avril, some hate Sum 41.
Me and the friend that showed me this laughed about this.
Plus, punk isn't what something is, it's what the person's attitude is.
People who act like how you've described have been reading the aforementioned (I think thats how it's spelt, not really sure) shitty article, whcih was in the Daily Star.

I'm impressed you read the daily star...What I meant to put across: The modern day interpretation of the punk attitude is so distorted it's the same as being a townie. I don't take this from a stereotype but as experience with the people (I'm somewhat alternate myself). *sigh* I never put my points right, it's always so beautifull in my head!

Like I said in my post, my friend showed me the article. I read the Mirror.
Musically, there's 70's punk, pop-punk, ska-punk, post-hardcore and several others.
In groups (of people's personalities) theres those you stated.

Right.
You seem to say that you like a pop-punk band, that're quite on the poppy side, and not Iron Maiden, Foo Fighters. Plus you said you didn't like WWE which is in the list. Why are you even here then?

I do like WWE, i didn't say I liked Not Katies...Just that they've played in Yeovil a few times. I'll read your list more carefully next time, it's probably more constructive giving my attnetion to it than your irrelevant contributions to a post that has little to do that isn't coverd with what you say. Why am I even here? Not to be mouthed off by people like you, jees, get off my back.

Then why bother mentioning it?
I don't have other people asking if I've seen a band thats in the list at a concert, then when I (usually) say no, they don't brag about it.

Ok, now I get it. Chris, you have no idea what you are talking about, you think you do, but you don't. You ask any punk fan, any real punk fan, and they are going to tell you that the Clash are Gods and Good Charlotte sucks major ass. Now, the entire point to this thread was to show anger at people who try to act like assholes so they can think that they are punk. The whole basis for punk was to just basically be who you are and NOT be a poser.

Y'see, that staement about the Clash & GC is where your wrong. I know real punks who like GC and the Clash. What d'ya say to that?

And I actually do know what I am talking about. It just happens the first punk bands I heard where Blink 182, Sum 41 and Alkaline Trio, so I'm mostly into POP-PUNK at the moment.

Dude, I was jus' making casual conversation, and then you come across with all this aggression at me. Whatever.
And you couldn't have done that in PM now could you?
Or does the concept of PMing people greatly confuse you so you had to post it so everyone could see it, when quit frankley the person you were didn't even care?
