It looks like Punk vs Rock is going to build and all I've got to say is fuck this. At MitB Punk's reign had already reached 240 days, are they really going to let him run with it to the Rumble? He's had his time already, I'd like a change up dammit, there are other main event stars on the roster besides Punk. I was sure he was going to drop the title to Cena on Raw 1000. I'm glad that didn't happen, because Cena's a tool but that doesn't change the fact that I've had my fill of Punk as champion.

I've also had my fill of Sheamus as champion. Their reigns are stale. I'm sure they figured they can reinvigorate Punk's reign by turning him heel, and for other fans they may be right, but I don't care if he's face, heel, tweener, jobber, barber, clown, or fucking hot dog vendor. I want to see a new champion as soon as possible.

Now that he's turned heel, I won't mind seeing the Title reign last that long. 14 month reign is good for the credibility and prestige of the WWE Championship. The part I hate though, The Rock ending a reign that supreme, just to drop it back to Cena. If someone is gonna beat Punk after 14 months, it should be someone fresh, someone that could really go over big time and help their career.

No one is forcing you to watch bro.
No one is forcing you to read bro.

people have no patience anymore and want to see a title change a month. Bring on the year reign. Sammartino held the title for years...
No one will ever hold a title like Sammartino did again, this isn't the same business it was when Sammartino was champion. I never said I needed a title change every month. This isn't every month, it's coming up on a year soon enough, as you said. I think that's plenty long enough in this age of wrestling.

I agree with most of what you said, including adding to the prestige, but I'm just tired of Punk as champion. The heel turn isn't likely to change my mind.

People moan about title runs being to short, and now punk has the change to have the longest run since 1984 (i think if he holds the title all the way until the rumble it will be longer then Cena's 2006-07 run) and people still moan. wait and see where this heel turn goes it should freshen up his run a bit,

He's going through a character change hopefully that spices up his title reign. but honestly who else are they gonna put the belt on other than Cena for the 14506th time
Kane, Jericho, Bryan, Orton, Mysterio, Big Show, Miz, Del Rio... etc. Take your pick.

Don't worry. Cena will cut his reign short at Night of Champions then he'll drop it back the next PPV or the one after that so Punk loses it to The Rock.
Please God, NO!

Isn't GI Joe 2 out in May/June 2013? WM season the Rock will be off promoting the movie. He will probably do this in some form in the WWE but I doubt he'd be able to work a full time WM schedule like the IWC suggest. I thought of it as soon as he said he was getting a title match at the Rumble, a bit random for it to be at the Rumble and not WM?

I can see Cena-Punk at WM somehow. They're due a WM clash, the two biggest stars in the WWE today. Rock will obviously be at Mania but I can't see a wrestling role, maybe an Austin-esque cameo.

It's good when a wrestler holds the belt for a long time. When it changes every two months, it makes it look meaningless.

As a big mark of Punk I dunno wether I will be mad or just lol when he taps out clean to Cena at NOC. :punk:

He ain't holding it till the RR, would be really nice if he did, but he won't. Cena will win it then Punk will win it back, lose the Rock and move onto his WM program.

I like long WWE Championship reigns. If they are done well.

Whilst Punk hasn't had good gripping feuds, he's pulled off brilliant matches every time he's put his title on the line from the likes of del Rio to Ziggler to Jericho to Bryan etc. He's realised (or someone has) that being a face doesn't fulfil CM Punk's true potential and how the WWE title can gain new heights now.

He's changing it up and I am all for it.

I'd love it if Punk held it until the Rumble. Longest reign since the Hogan era if it happens, and I'm all for it. Long title runs go a long way in regaining some of the prestige of the Champion position.

The dumbest thing WWE could do is have Cena win it either at Summerslam or Night of Champions. His whole angle is that he's dying to win the gold again, and they're gonna jump the shark on that by having him beat Punk at possibly a "B" PPV? Stupid! Stupid! (Orton voice)

This is all leading to a showdown at Mania of some sort, with the Rumble being a major turning point. Personally, I like the idea of a triple threat for the gold involving Punk, Rock and Cena.

None of those guys except maybe Orton and Big Show are credible enough.
Kane has only won one PPV match since the mask returned, not to mention he's already had 2 WWE title matches, being unsuccessful in both. Jericho hasn't won a PPV match since Wrestlemania 26. Bryan has had 3 WWE title matches on the last 3 pay per views and lost all 3. Mysterio's just gotten back from injury. Miz is the intercontinental champion. And Del Rio is chasing the world heavyweight championship, having already lost 3 world title matches in the last 2 months.
And to be honest, I don't want to see Big Show or Orton as champion. Big Show is shit. That needs no further explanation. And Orton being WWE champion wouldn't make sense as he's the face of SmackDown.

I wanna see Punk vs Rock but I agree he should hold the title till the Royal Rumble. Honestly, I'm just ready for The Rock to take the title off him or anybody who is holding it at the Rumble. A year long reign is too long. He needs to drop it at Summer Slam or Night of Champions.

I doubt that will affect his schedule much. Its not like he's filming, he's just promoting it. All he needs to do is show up on Mondays, which I'm sure he will. He's still wrestling at Wrestlemania 29. plus, why would anybody want to see Cena vs Punk again. We've seen it plenty of times.
