Breaking News

Christian Cage has signed on with Pro Wrestling All-Stars. Last seen in the WWE back in December, Christian was supposed to make his return at the Royal Rumble, however his contract expired and the two sides haven't reached a decision. Christian will be making his PWA debut along with a number of great wrestlers on April 5, 2014.

PWA has revealed the name of their new show along with the first logo. Unlike WWE's Main Event; PWA is calling their Saturday Night show THE MAIN EVENT. The logo for the show can be seen at the below. Reports from insiders within the company is that Hogan and Bischoff want their show to definitely have the Main Event atmosphere with a real strong feeling that every show is a pay-per-view caliber show as opposed to WWE which is more storyline based and TNA which has a very small look. The Main Event has dates booked the MGM Grand Garden Arena for their first four Saturday shows. Tickets are going on sale now for all of their April shows with discounts for those who buy for all four events. The four pack ticket price starts at $100.00 where as the lowest single ticket is starting at $30.00.

Looking good so far and I'm looking forward to seeing where you go and how you take this. Looking forward to seeing what divisions you go with this company, and how the roster could possibly expand. Lots of free agents that were overlooked in TNA and WWE that had plenty of potential (Muhammad Hassan, Kenny Dykstra, Alex Koslov, Davey Richards and so many more). However I love the mix of big names veterans (Sting, Steiner, Rhino, AJ, Christian and Jeff Hardy) along with mid-level guys (Dibiase, Chris Hero, Elijah Burke, Matt Hardy) and lower level guys (Young Bucks, Petey, Ryan) you don't generally hear much about anymore..

Definitely looking forward to this. I really like BTBs where people make their own company instead of trying to rewrite history of an era. I enjoy those, but these are much more entertaining for the most part.

PWA News 03/06/14:
Since the historic announcement in New York City on February 3rd, the new upstart promotion Pro Wrestling All-Stars is gaining a lot of traction from the wrestling community. Hogan and Bischoff have been tight lipped over who their backer is but many sources believe their backer to be Ted Turner. Whomever the funds are coming from, many insiders believe that this is the shot in the arm that pro wrestling needs to get back in the big leagues again. Promotion for all their shows have been through the roof as advertising has been all over the place from Billboards, to Youtube videos, radio and most notably television ads. Hogan and Bischoff have also started a vigorous tour across the US and Canada to promote their show with interviews slated for Kelly and Mike, Anderson Cooper Live, and Larry King Now. The big pay-off is still to be determined, but already shows announced have been received highly with ticket sales already surpassing the 2,000.

This is a concept that is really appealing to me and I like that you are using guys not signed with WWE or TNA and just adding a few from TNA to add to it as this all seems realistic if a new company was going to open. I look forward to seeing how the company opens and what feuds and storyline emerge.

Pro Wrestling All-Stars News:
04/02/14

House shows were held over the past weekend in three locations. The powers that be are thrilled with the outcome for the first set of shows and are planning their strategy for the next set of tour dates. Sources within the company say the backstage feeling is high among the staff as wrestlers and agents seemed motivate to make pro wrestling fun again. The surprising market was New York as several people including Hogan was concerned that with WWE having the New York market it would be a challenge to infiltrate Madison Square Garden. PWA agents believe that this is the first step to competing with the biggest wrestling company in the world, and a win fall for their upstart company.

All this week, advertisements will be going out for the premier of THE MAIN EVENT on TBS. Hogan and Bischoff along with other major stars like AJ Styles, Ted Dibiase, John Hennigan, Sting, and Christian Cage will be out and about participating in interviews across the continent in promotion of the big show.

PWA confirms the final round of talent hiring has taken place over the weekend leading up to The Main Event. Although they are tight lipped about one particular signing, PWA has added the following to their talent roster: Chris Jericho, Monty Brown, Buff Bagwell, Adam Copeland, Tomko and Raven. PWA will be announcing their final major acquisition within the next two weeks on The Main Event.

Pretty awesome roster. Should make for a great promotion. Seems like a lot of titles for a promotion just beginning, but hey man, jump right into it. Very interested in how Adam Copeland will be involved... authority figure? Part timer? Or full fledged return, either way this all looks interesting. Good luck.

The debut of PWA is a little more than 48 hours away, and already a huge impact has been made on both WWE and TNA. Commercials hyping the debut of PWA's THE MAIN EVENT has aired on both Impact, RAW, and Smackdown over the past week; plus the buzz around the media coverage of PWA has taken away from WWE's Wrestlemania XXX happening the next night. Wrestling insiders believe that all the momentum and the press coverage given to PWA is exactly what pro wrestling needs to get bumped back to mainstream again. It is definitely getting casual wrestling fans and sports personalities saying that with the star studded roster and the funds needed to make the company succeed that Vince McMahon and Dixie Carter both need to repackage their programming and deliver what the fans want.

The Countdown is on to the debut of Pro Wrestling Allstar's THE Main Event. Live from the MGM Grand, the debut promises to deliver an action packed, star studded line up as the Quest for the PWA World Heavyweight Championship starts. 8 superstars will kick off the tournament with the finals taking place at PWA'S The Showdown Pay-Per-View. Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff will also be on hand to address the crowd live on TBS. The two hour premier of The Main Event kicks off at 8:00 PM EST.

Pro Wrestling All-stars
THE MAIN EVENT
04/05/14
Live from MGM Grand, Las Vegas Nevada

The Main Event kicks off with the official opening video with “Across the Nation” by Union Underground as the theme song. The footage shows Sting, AJ Styles, The Hardys, Tara, Christian Cage, Eric Bischoff, The Young Bucks, Matt Morgan, Antonio Banks, Mickie James, and Hulk Hogan.
The Pyro explodes from the stage in front of the set and fans in the MGM Grand are excited for the huge event in store.

Matt Striker: Ladies and Gentlemen, we are live here in the MGM Grand. Welcome to the Pro Wrestling All-Stars, welcome to a history making night, welcome to the MAIN EVENT. I’m Matt Striker here along with my colleague Scott Hudson.

Scott Hudson: It’s great to be back behind the broadcast booth again, and a real pleasure to be working with you Matt.

The cameras finish looking around the crowd and the arena and turn to ringside with Matt Striker and Scott Hudson standing beside their desk.

Matt: We are in for an amazing and historic night as The Main Event premiers here on TBS and TSN.

Scott: I am thrilled to be making history tonight with all of the action planned for this evening.

Matt: We’re going to kick things off right with the Icon, the Hall of Famer, the face of professional wrestling; Hulk Hogan.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVYRUy7ss2g

7,430 Fans jump to their feet with a huge reaction as Hollywood Hulk Hogan emerges with the Red and Yellow on. The pyro goes off and Hogan poses at the top of the entrance way. He starts to walk down the small ramp and down the aisle as Red and Yellow lights flash around the arena. Hogan gets an amazing reaction with fans chanting “Hogan” as he walks through the red, white, and blue ropes. Hogan pauses for several minutes as the crowd continues their response to his entrance.

Hulk Hogan: Pro Wrestling is back once again brother and Hulkamania is running wild here in the MGM Grand!

Fans continue cheering as Hogan pauses for them.

Hulk: I am thrilled to have PWA kicking off its show right here in Las Vegas brother. The Main Event is all about bringing tradition and big time atmosphere back to the sport that we have all grown up with. The world of professional wrestling is changing and we’re making that change tonight brother. Just before we get on with the rest of the show, I wanted to come out here and introduce the world to the greatest prize in this company, the PWA Heavyweight Championship Belt.

Hogan is handed a briefcase from SoCal Val and opens it, revealing to the world the Heavyweight Championship Belt. Hogan hoists the belt over his shoulder and continues to address the crowd.

Hulk: This championship is what it’s all about brother, and tonight we start the quest to crown the first PWA Heavyweight Champion. 8 of the greatest wrestlers in the world today will compete for the greatest prize in the company. The wrestlers competing for the belt tonight include Christian Cage, AJ Styles, Chris Jericho, Scott Steiner, Sting, Antonio Banks, Rhino, and Jeff Hardy. These men are without a shadow of a doubt the best wrestlers in the world today, and I know they will do whatever it takes to become the best in the world.

Hogan is interrupted by the Blueprint Matt Morgan. Morgan comes down to the ring with Jimmy Hart by his side. Morgan gets in Hogan’s face.

Matt Morgan: Why would you dare leave me out of this groundbreaking opportunity? I am the greatest giant in the world today and you bring me into this company only crush any opportunity to be the man to carry this company to the promise land.

Hulk: Listen brother, I believe that you have what it takes to be the best ever, but right now I’ve selected the best this company has to offer at this moment in time. You chance will come Matt, but it will take time.

Matt: I’ve been waiting my whole life for this moment to come. I’ve wanted nothing more than to be a champion for years, so I’m going to give you the chance Hulk to make it right. I’m going to ask you to put me in that tournament because you believe in me and I know I can become the first PWA Heavyweight Champion of the World.

Hulk: I can’t do that Matt I’m sorry brother.

Matt: Well I’m sorry too Hulk, I’m sorry that I’m going to have to do this.

Morgan nails Hogan with the Carbon Footprint, sending the Hall of Famer to the canvas. Hogan is passed out as Morgan stands over him with a foot on his chest. Morgan’s music plays and the Blueprint along with Jimmy Hart leaves the ring.

Matt Striker and Scott Hudson discuss the actions of Matt Morgan than hype the huge PWA Title Tournament happening tonight.

*BREAK*

Match One:
PWA Heavyweight Championship Tournament
AJ Styles vs. Sting
Following commercial the lights go out and fans in the MGM are still quiet as “Evil Ways” plays and the Phenomenal AJ Styles slowly starts to make his way through the entrance way. The lights in the arena start flashing as the multi-time world champion gets an amazing ovation from the crowd on his entrance. Matt Striker and Scott Hudson build on the hype of the Phenomenal AJ Styles and his legacy leading to the opening contest on The Main Event. Midway through his entrance David Penzer starts the introduction of AJ Styles and he climbs through the ropes and gets into the ring. The lights go out once again and a remix of the Crow theme plays as smoke rises over the entrance ramp and down the aisle. The Sting finally emerges to a roaring crowd as Scott Hudson hypes of this encounter between two of the greatest wrestlers never to step foot inside a WWE ring. Cloaked with a hood over his head Sting slowly makes his way down to the ring. He finally takes off his hooded jacket to reveal his White, Black, and Red face paint. David Penzer announces that the match has a 10 Minute TV Time Limit and referee Slick Johnson calls for the bell and the match kicks off. Sting and AJ Styles locks up in center of the ring and the Icon backs the Phenomenal One into the corner. The referee starts a five count and Sting lets go of the lock up. The match slowly starts with a second lock taking place, this time AJ wins the collar/elbow tie up and slaps a side headlock on Sting. The Icon pushes Styles off and into the ropes and AJ charges back, ducking under a clothesline and nailing Sting with a flying forearm. Both men land on the canvas and AJ quickly gets back to his feet. Styles waits for Sting then drops him with a series of hip tosses then slaps a hammerlock on Sting in the middle of the ring. The Icon fights back to his feet then counters with his own wrist lock. AJ counters again and the match changes pace with AJ sending Sting to the canvas with an arm drag take down. The Phenomenal One pulls Sting up and whips him into the corner with so much force that Sting goes over the top rope and lands on the ground. Styles springboards off the top rope and lands on the Icon on the arena floor. Fans go crazy for AJ as he pulls Sting back to his feet and rolls him into the ring; Styles then climbs to the top rope and dives off with a moonsault on the Stinger. AJ covers the Icon for a near fall when Sting kicks out. The Phenomenal AJ Styles keeps the momentum going in his favour with chops to the chest of Sting, backing him into the corner. Styles whips Sting across the ring and charges after with a huge clothesline. Sting staggers out of the corner and is met with a Pelee Kick from Styles. AJ attempts another pin, but only gets a two count before Sting gets a shoulder up. The Icon finally battles back with a few punches to the mid-section followed by a series of rights to the face of Styles. Sting backs AJ into the corner and nails him with a number of knife edged chops. The Icon whips AJ across the ring and charges after with a huge Stinger Splash. Styles is whipped back across the ring and is met with a second Stinger Splash before staggering out of the corner. The Icon drives Styles face first to the ground then gets back up and hollers “WOOOOOO” to the crowd. Sting starts working on the legs of the Phenomenal One, setting him up for a Scorpion Death Lock. Sting is about to slap the hold on when Styles grabs him and rolls him up into a small package. Slick Johnson gets a two count before Sting kicks out. Sting gets back up to his feet and continues to beat down AJ Styles, but the Phenomenal One bounces back one more time with a Enzu Giri kick. Styles drops Sting with the Styles Clash and rolls him up for a 1…2…3.
(7:29) AJ Styles advances in the tournament

The Phenomenal One climbs to the ropes following his victory as Sting slowly recovers from being stunned. Sting pulls AJ down of the ropes and the two stare each other down. Holding his ribs after a beat down, The Icon extends a hand to the winner out of respect. AJ shakes Sting’s hand then proceeds to hug the Icon. The two leave the MGM together as Matt and Scott discuss the mutual respect each wrestler has for one another.

*BREAK*

Eric Bischoff comes out with a mixed reaction from the crowd, but he’s not alone as he walks down the aisle with a number of wrestlers behind him. They all get into the ring and Bischoff is handed a microphone from SoCal Val.

Eric Bischoff: Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you all so very much for coming to Pro Wrestling All-Stars. I know that some of you hate my guts and others think that I am the greatest mind in this business, but I wanted to take a moment to come out and tell you all how much we truly appreciate that support from you our fans. PWA is all about really bringing out the best talent in the world and showcasing them for you. Tonight we’re focusing on the Heavyweights of this company; but they aren’t the be all to end all of this business. Behind me are the workhorses of this company. These are the men who make up the PWA Prime Time Division.

Eric Bischoff takes a moment to listen as the fans cheer in the MGM Grand.

Eric: Over the next couple of weeks we are going to showcase more of our wrestlers and really give you an understanding of what PWA has to offer, and at our first Pay-Per-View The Showdown on May 4, every championship will be decided including the PWA Prime Time Championship. Allow me to take the time to introduce the wrestlers in the Prime Time Division.

Bischoff goes through the wrestlers behind him; Crimson, Chris Hero, Jay Lethal, Joey Ryan, Petey Williams, Shane Helms, Shelton Benjamin, and Sonjay Dutt.

Eric: I truly believe from the bottom of my heart that this is the best crop of wrestlers in the world today, and together we’re going to revolutionize the business once more. I encourage all eight of you do you very best because this a new time for pro wrestling. It’s no longer just about the World Championship even though that is everyone’s end game. I want all of you to strive to be the best in the Prime Time Division so that you can win the PWA Prime Time Title. And as with our other division to be introduced next week; if you are successful in defending your title as champion for 90 days, you automatically get a shot at the PWA Championship at the next Pay-Per-View. This is our way to encourage you to be on top and strive for success because it’s not about a pecking order; we are all working together to build the greatest wrestling promotion in the world. Good luck to all of you!

Bischoff’s music plays and the Boss leaves the ring.

The return from break has David Penzer kicking off with the announcement of the second contest on the Main Event. Big Poppa Pump comes down to the ring for the next PWA Title Tournament match. He taunts the crowd on the microphone for a bit before handing the mic back to Penzer. The MGM Grand erupts in “Hardy” chants as the Charismatic Enigma is announced. Green smoke fills the place as the brightly painted Hardy comes down the ring. Fans go crazy for him as he poses on the top rope. Steiner jumps Hardy before the bell rings and starts going to work on him with jabs to the mid section. Steiner drops Hardy to the canvas and drops an elbow across his chest. Big Poppa Pump starts getting mixed up with some of the fans before going back to work on the Charismatic Enigma’s lower back area. Steiner whips Hardy into the corner then with his shoulder, Steiner drives Hardy’s back into the turn buckle. Hardy backs out of the corner and falls to the canvas, but Steiner refuses to give him a break and picks him up and nails a number of uppercuts that back Hardy back into the ropes. Big Poppa Pump clotheslines Hardy over the top rope. Steiner goes to the outside after Hardy, but is surprised by Hardy’s comeback outside the ring. Jeff and Scott exchange rights back and forth on the outside before Steiner is slammed to the ground outside the ring. Hardy rolls back inside to break the referee’s count. He climbs to the top rope and dives off with a 180 on Steiner. Hardy rolls his opponent back into the ring and goes in after him. The Charismatic Enigma builds his momentum with a series or jabs on Steiner before backing him into the corner. Steiner is whipped across the ring and is nailed by Hardy with a flying forearm. Hardy drops Steiner with a Twist of Fate then climbs to the top rope. He’s about to dive off with a Swanton when Buff Bagwell races down to the ring. Bagwell pushes Hardy off the rope and gets down off the apron himself. Bagwell watches the rest of the match from the outside as Steiner crawls over to cover Hardy for a near fall. Steiner slaps a Steiner Recliner on Hardy. Hardy gets out of the submission by getting his foot on the rope. Steiner whips Hardy into the ropes and the two of them collide with a clothesline; landing on the canvas. The referee starts the 10 count as they lie out cold in the middle of the ring. Hardy is the first to get up when Bagwell attempts to take him out. Matt Hardy charges down to the ring and takes Bagwell out with a Twist of Fate. Jeff climbs to the top rope and dives off with a Swanton on Steiner. Jeff capitalizes with a pinfall.
(9:22) Jeff Hardy advances in the tournament

Jeff is joined in the ring by his brother as the Hardy Brothers reunite in the squared circle. Bagwell gets back in the ring and attempts to jump Jeff, but Matt steps in and spears Bagwell to the canvas. The two of them leave the ring side by side as Steiner and Bagwell are both laid out.

Backstage: Eric Bischoff is joined in his office by Matt Morgan. Bischoff thanks Morgan for taking the time to come in and meet with him. Bischoff addresses the actions of the Blueprint earlier tonight in regards to his assault on Hogan. Bischoff feels that Morgan actions are out of place and he needs to get in line and earn his shot like everybody else around this company. Morgan argues with Bischoff over where they perceive his spot to be and Bischoff puts him in a match next week on The Main Event. When he asks who is opponent’s going to be Bischoff introduces him to the Alpha Male. Monty Brown comes into the office and stares Matt Morgan down.

*BREAK*

Both women make their television wrestling return after being away for almost a year. Amazing Kong is hyped as a Monster as she comes out to the ring. Angelina Love makes her entrance and looks confident that she can take down Kong. When the bell rings Angelina charges after Kong, nailing her with a few elbows to the side of the head and a number of uppercuts; however Kong doesn’t budge, but instead grabs Love by the hair and tosses her across the ring like a rag doll. Angelina Love gets back up and proceeds to go after Kong again, but Amazing Kong sends her to the ground with a head butt. Kong taunts the Canadian wrestler as she slowly gets back up. Amazing Kong puts Angelina into the corner and starts pounding away on her before whipping her across the ring. Kong charges after and nails Angelina with a splash. The impact of the splash sends Angelina to the canvas with her head against the bottom rope. Kong drives several boots to the face of Angelina before choking her out with a boot. Referee Jack Doan gets Amazing Kong out of the corner and she starts mocking the fans as he checks on Angelina Love. Kong pushes the referee away and pulls her up to her feet. Kong drops Angelina with a powerslam to the canvas and covers her, but Angelina manages to get a shoulder up before the three count. Kong climbs to the middle rope and dives off with a cross body, but Angelina rolls out of the way forcing Kong to slam face first on the canvas. Both women are slow to get to their feet. Angelina Love gets up first and nails Kong with a drop kick, sending her reeling into the ropes. Kong falls and gets her arms tied up between the top and the middle ropes. Angelina takes advantage and nails her with several punches to the side of the head before charging at her from one side of the ring and nailing her with a drop kick. The referee finally helps Kong out of the ropes and Love covers for a two count. Love is building momentum in the match, with fans cheering for her. Angelina attempts the Break a Bitch but Kong kicks her in the face. Kong drops Love to the canvas with a sitdown powerbomb. Kong covers Angelina for the 1…2…3.

Christian ends with his signature “That’s How I Roll” and is about to leave when he is stopped by Chris Jericho. Jericho and Christian have a little discussion about what wrestling fans really deserve and Jericho promises to stop Christian from getting the World Title at the Showdown Pay-Per-View.

*BREAK*

The lights go out in the Arena momentarily as the next match is about to start.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdcfPFzkuJM
Chris Jericho enters into the building as the fans in the MGM jump to their feet. A pyro display goes off for Jericho when he poses at the entrance way. Jericho starts walking down the aisle for his match against the “MVP of PWA” Antonio Banks.

Match Four:
PWA Heavyweight Championship Tournament
Chris Jericho vs. Antonio Banks
The two lock up in the centre of the ring with Banks slapping a side head lock on Jericho. Jericho whips Banks into the ropes and sends him to the canvas with a shoulder block. Jericho waits for Banks to get back to his feet and they lock up again, this time with Jericho getting the upper hand. Chris slaps a hammer lock on Banks, but Antonio counters with a wrist lock on Jericho. Chris fights out and once again gets control of Banks, but the MVP of PWA elbows Jericho in the face a number of times before grabbing him by the head and throwing him through the ropes. Antonio Banks goes out to the floor after Jericho and slams him face first into the ring steps. Jericho keeps walking around the ring as Banks gets in the face of some of the fans at ringside. Banks slams Jericho to the ground then rolls in to break the count. The MVP comes back outside and clotheslines Jericho on the mats. With the former Undisputed Champion on the ground, Banks pulls back the ring mats to expose the concrete floor. Reaction from THE MAIN EVENT:
PWA is coming off one of the most talked about wrestling debuts in recent history with a huge amount of support from wrestling fans. THE MAIN EVENT which aired the same night as the WWE Hall of Fame outdrew the Hall of Fame in viewership; garnering 3.6 Million Viewers on it's very first broadcast. The backstage crew has been really vocal about how the powers that be in PWA want to make an impact in professional wrestling. If the momentum keeps up it can be anticipated that a future ratings war between WWE and PWA may be on the horizon. That being said, speculation is that before PWA goes head to head with WWE they may go after TNA; who is still only managing to get 1 million viewers each and every week.

Acquiring New Talent:
TNA's contract negotiations with Bad Influence are not going as Dixie Carter has hoped. The treatment given to AJ Styles is the same treatment Daniels and Kazarian are getting over their new contracts. With less then a month left before their current contract expires there is feeling that Bad Influence might make the jump over to PWA with the influence of AJ Styles. Kurt Angle, who's contract is also coming up at the end of August is said to be on bad terms with the company after they attempted to get him to work with an injury. One final mention in the locker room is the fate of CM Punk who many feel should be with the company once his contract with WWE expired. Although Punk left the company in January, he's still on the WWE roster until the middle of April. After that time Punk would have to wait for the 90 day no compete clause to finish up. Should PWA sign Punk, he may show up as early as August's Cyberslam Pay-Per-View.

Reading most of this over, just got a few notes for ya...

1) I like the concept behind this. Building a WCW2 pretty much, there's several different ways you can go so I wish you luck first of all.
2) I would try to shrink the size of some of the pictures that you put in here though. Some of them are huge and it makes reading kind of difficult.
3) House shows before the first T.V. show, don't know how that would go. In real life to me it would be better to wait and do house shows until the company has more awareness but hey, this isn't real life so I say do what you feel works.

Reading the first show, a couple things jumped out at me.

1) I do like that you're sort of picking up where TNA left off with Matt Morgan and Hogan. That was definitely another area that TNA dropped the ball on so it will be interesting to see where you take it from here.
2) I noticed that out of the five matches you had, three of them had some sort of attempted run-in. I just think it's best to limit any sort of outside interference as much as possible and only do it maybe once, or twice a show at most. It ruins the effectiveness of them, or anything in wrestling for that matter, when it happens too often.

All in all I think you have a pretty good start here. Look forward to reading more.
