His Twitter account has now been suspended meaning he has now been suspended from all social media.
While I do not agree with Trump's rabble rousing following the election, I think it sets a very dangerous precedent. Social media should be a platform for free speech - that of course does not involve hate speech, threats of violence etc (though Twitter etc, seem to pick and choose when it comes to this too). People should also not be silenced for saying stupid things, they should be free to put their thoughts out there and we should be able to disagree, point out the flaws in their arguments etc. I think it is very dangerous if big tech companies become the arbiters of truth. Having lived in China, I can say that I am very grateful that we have social media where people are free to openly criticise the government and have even unpopular or unsavoury opinions! That is true liberal democracy.
For those that inevitably argue that social media platforms should get to decide what is published on their platform, differing from regular free speech laws - then they should in kind be treated as publishers and be fully responsible for everything published on their platform. You can't pick and choose!
