Really PG isn't the reason why WWE sucks. If it is then does that mean everything before 1998 sucked?

PG is just a backbone, give us support, so we can bash everything WWE does. For example, Santino and Kozlov's dance off was crap yes, but was it because of PG? If it was TV14 would we have complained about it? Or would we have laughed? We found amusement in Mae Young giving birth to a hand why not this?

Do the storylines suck because of PG? If we had today's storyline with a 14+ rating what would be the difference? Some language added to the dialogue? So instead of Cena saying,"I'll kick your butt" he'll be saying "I'll kick your ass". Is that really much of a difference?

Basically what I'm saying is that instead of blaming poor writing and what not we use PG as a cop out. Btw I see no problem in today's storylines. These are wrestling storylines. Undertaker sacrificing peole and hanging them on a cross, yeah that's more like a movie and has nothing to do with wrestling.

No it really just sucks. When the face of the company is given lines like "baloney fudgin mustard the internet is ruining my life" and "this is the worst thing since my mom cancelled my warcraft subscription" you know WWE sucks. And the other top guy on Raw Orton does nothing but wiggle around like a retard. Edge is so stale now and his characters feels completely forced now unlike 2007. All the guys they are pushing like Sheamus, Swagger and McIntyre are clearly nowhere near ready for their spot yet. The mid-card is absolutely horrible besides Miz. The Nexus storyline is ruined now without Wade Barrett. Do I need to go on?

WWE just flatout sucks now. Period.

Pg is a factor of the poorness at the moment, but not an excuse at all, just a fact. Still only a small factor however. I wish pg would would just go fuck itself, but seen as were stuck with it, they could still do a million times better.

They could easily have a good respectable pg promotion with good storylines and then we wouldn't even moan about it even been pg

Even if right now they said pg is no more, in a months time the stuff they put out would still be shit probably, so when thought like that, doesn't make much of a difference I guess

Here's the thing: PG shouldn't matter. If you write good shows, and just keep on trucking, cutting down on blood, cussing, & sex shouldn't matter. A good show is a good show. Hell, Pixar makes G Rated movies that are better than a vast majority of what you see out there.

The problem is that the WWE feels like PG has to equal a dumbed down product that will make make the kiddies happy while putting the adults in pure pain with bad comedy segments & just sheer stupidity.

Well there was once a guy who was the face of a company who said nothing but "shove it up your candy ass" and that made the fans go wild. They're both immature and stupid so what's your point?

Jeez I guess D-Lo Brown must have pissed the shgit outta you.

Edge is so stale now and his characters feels completely forced now unlike 2007
The same Edge that was in 2007 is the same Edge we have today. Edge has this gimmick since 2006.

All the guys they are pushing like Sheamus, Swagger and McIntyre are clearly nowhere near ready for their spot yet.
I think Swagger proved himself.

The mid-card is absolutely horrible besides Miz
Oh yes the pointless matches that guys like Steve Blackman, Road Dogg, Val Venis and D-Lo Brown had were soo interesting.

The Nexus storyline is ruined now without Wade Barrett.
Wow is there anything else you would like to complain about? At this rate I'm surprised you haven't complained about something as simple as RAW ropes colors being white instead of red.

Do I need to go on?
No please I can't take another sentence of your bullshit.

Rock said lines that didn't make me feel embarrassed to watch wrestling around other people. Never liked D-Lo. Yes Edge has the same character but it's forced now. In 2007 there was actually a reason for it and he made you believe it was him. Now he's so painfully bad to listen to and watch and his heel turn was forced and made no sense considering he was over huge as a face. How did Swagger prove himself? He drew big heat 1 time and after his promo effect wore off the fans ignored him the rest of his reign. And why shouldn't I complain about it? The Nexus storyline is the MAIN FOCUS of Raw and the only 2 guys that were actually good are gone now. The storyline is ruined.

The Rock did some dumbass and immature things.

His rampant sexual harassment with streudel and poon tang pie comments wore out its welcome quickly with me.

As good as a talker he was, I felt like he sometimes limited himself by leading the crowd in a Sing-a-long of his catchphrases. His many, many catchphrases.

But that Cena promo embarrassed me more than Mick Foley with a pooper scooper at a dog pound so The Rock could Rock Bottom somebody onto a pizza pie oven sheet covered in dogshit.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. And I'd take D-Lo and Scotty 2 Hotty over Santino and Kozlov any day.

I agree with TripleG. It's not PG that's the problem, it's subpar writing. Doesn't WWF's "Golden Age" in the late 80s prove that PG isn't the problem? All WWE needs to do is start writing more interesting angles, and focus on the wrestling.

It's funny how divided wrestling fans are over this pg era. There are so many coming to these forums and hating on it, and at the same time there are so many who are supporting it. We never had this rivalry going back in the attitude era.

I wonder how long this PG hate/PG love rivalry is going to last. I've counted at least 5 threads on "why the pg era isn't so bad " this week alone and older attitude era fans in each one posting their dissenting opinions. Haha.

I just watched the 27 April 1999 episode of Raw, where the black wedding between Stephanie and Undertaker happened. That show was perfect. It utilized all the talent from the lower card to the main eventers, it had storylines which made you want to keep watching and had a climactic finale, not the six-man or eight man tag borefest that usually ends Raw.

Was it because it was PG? Sure it had a bloodbath from the Brood on Kane and a wedding from hell, but it was because of the writing and the execution by the performers that the show was good. Nowadays if they used gothic themes, they'd turn Randy Orton into a sexy vampire to lure the Twilight fans.

Also look at TNA. They want to go more hardcore, but without the proper writing and direction, the show suffers.

The problem with the WWE is they're taking the PG rating far too seriously. Look at the Nexus invasion. The first time they came and destroyed everyone it was the best Raw ending in years. And then they had to go and fire Bryan for reasons that I still cannot comprehend.

And there's the writing. There are many pointless segments. The storylines if any, advance at a very slow pace. Santino wants Kozlov to be his partner for 3 months, enough already. I also really don't care who are the champions anymore. R-Truth became US Champion for the first time and he held it for two weeks. Big deal. And now that he lost it he doesn't seem to care one bit. Now Miz has it back and he just carries it around almost like Ted DiBiase carries the Million Dollar Belt. I also blame the wrestlers here, they don't seem excited when they are champions.
If they don't care, why should I?

The WWE should take some pointers from the Attitude Era, not in terms of violence and swearing, but in terms of making a fast paced, exciting product that will make you want to tune in next week.

All of these things happened under a PG rating

Granted, there may not be buckets of blood and failed porn stars flashing their tits but there's still far more "attitude" than we see today.

Now I can agree that the PG rating is to blame it's the crappy writing team because they make the characters look like idoits Cena is a perfect example unlike Rock, Cena's lines come off cheesy and corny like telling Cole his email was [email protected] which isn't funny to some people. But when you promote yourself having an auidence that mostly over the age of 18 you shouldn't be PG.

The crappy writing team is to blame. They made the characters seem bland and uninteresting. Breathe some life into them for fuck's sake!

It just comes down to poor writing and lackluster ideas. A show can be violent, lewd and still suck.
