I agree she'll make a better heel but the time's not right. Eventually though.

Yes. They won't turn her heel until they get a definite answer form AJ though whether or not she's returning. If she does return you'll have heel AJ vs face Paige. If AJ says she's not coming back, then they will probably turn her.
Here's the problem with that though. Who do you think heel Paige will be going up against, especially when they start shooting for a new season again? The babyface cast of Total Divas. AKA AJ story we just had. Didn't we just have a 6 month, boring ass feud of the heel non cast member champion vs the babyface cast members? It will be the same thing. And they will waste Paige's poential much like they did with AJ.

Keep Paige face for now but sometime later Emma would be a good face challenger, but she's a comedy act right now and kind of stuck with the Santino/Fandango/Layla storyline. Down the road after she's established a more serious character for sure. For right now, it could be heel Paige vs face AJ. Just turn Paige heel sometime after now and have AJ return as a face wanting her rematch.Then, freshen things up through the years by switching the face/heel role here and there a la Trish/Lita. I don't want to see any of the total divas after they've been given title shots left and right since last August. and I don't know if they'll ever turn Tamina face. It will take time to elevate Alicia and Aksana from jobber status and they're better heels anyway. I would really like to see Alicia with the title though cause the girl can go in the rinng.

They need her as a face right now so people will care about her, and the divas division for that matter.

She will be face for at least a few months and at least until they fully unlock her gimmick. If she becomes a popular draw she will remain face, if they can make someone else as popular of a draw that is a face like Emma, they will turn her heel if AJ Lee doesn't come back. She hasn't even be semi-trialled as a face draw yet they are just in the process of building her up. If she reaches her true potential of being the face of the divas division she will stay face no matter what.
If she does turn it probably won't be until she drops the title.
It's funny because most Faces who do win the title early in their career(like within the first 4 months or so) end up turning Heel not too long after dropping the title(i.e. The Rock, Gail Kim, Santino, etc.)

We just had a major heel champion. Guess what she did? Nothing. Nothing of note except for a promo on a bunch of divas. She held it because there was no one else they were going to give it to. That's what it seemed like to me. AJ was just warming the belt up. Why would I want to see yet another heel diva champion do absolutely nothing for half a year? No thank you, unless they make it interesting, in which I have no faith in WWE creative to do such a thing. I'd rather Paige be a face and have matches, get some exposure, and win so her credibility goes up. AJ's credibility during her reign was shot when she kept losing in worthless tag matches.
And you think having Paige wrestle Alicia Fox and Aksana ad nauseum isn't going to be as bad. I mean the lack of credible Heels has basically left Paige in limbo in her 1st month as champion. This is looking like Layla/Kaitlyn's title reign in which they did nothing but beat up on the Heel jobbers. So, Face or Heel it really doesn't matter. A Heel champ actually has alot more opponents to feud with right now(both Bellas, Naomi, Natalya, possibly Emma) than a Face champ would(Tamina).

Doesn't seem like she is meant to be a typical "face" character anyway. I don't see the point of turning her heel, just let her be a fan favorite with an attitude.

Unless AJ and Summer are both coming back fairly soon (I think Summer should be back before June is well under way), being a heel would give Paige more credible opponents. WWE could turn Nattie or Nikki fairly soon if AJ is planning to be out past June or so though.
Until then, Paige just needs to tweak her mannerisms, or at least get a chance to explain them in some way. Her scream sounds psychotic and not in line with her character currently.

Paige sells a crap ton of merch. Anyone suggesting for her to be a full fledged heel lacks good business sense.
Not even AJ is a full fledged heel, she mostly just beefs with the total divas. Young fans relate to her persona, as well as her style (t-shirt, jean shorts, chuck taylors), so she's highly marketable. Paige relates to young fans due to her slightly gothic look.
Either way, both AJ and Paige relate to any socially awkward fans in a way that none of the Total Divas can. The only advantage that Total Divas have is that they're more relatable to adults than either AJ or Paige. However, Total Divas are less likely to sell merch than either AJ or Paige.

Ohh come on, her scream is no different than most of the male wrestlers' mannerisms.
Her scream is totally in line with her character. Go back and watch old NXT episodes.

She isn't on NXT now. Her character has some differences from the NXT Anti-Diva character she had. Time to re-formulate a bit. If she insists on keeping the scream, I would have her watch Melina's matches from her time as a face to work on how to fit it in. Right now, she is screaming like she is Edge's original gimmick or something and it just comes off like she isn't all there, not a siren call to signal her comeback or a high impact move.

She's popular, so it's best to cash in on her as a face for now. She'll make a good heel down the line, but she's not the problem either way. Most of the others in the division and the booking of it is.
This is a huge problem too. The storyline range for the divas seems to either be meaningless or total divas based.
