Paddy Power Odds - Cena betting suspended?

Just been on PP to look at match odds for MITB, went to add Cena to an accumulator and his odds have been suspended, its still 4/1 Jericho, 6/1 Big Show and 9/1 Kane but Cena is just a blank space where his odds were (8/15). Any ideas...?

thats a good question, i wonder why they would do that?
Same reason why when you get a Duke vs. Lehigh basketball game, that no one ever bets on Duke. Cena is heavily favored to win that match, so basically, given 8/15 odds, if you bet $10 on Cena, you will only get $5.66 back, which is a net loss for you anyway, so why even bother betting on Cena for odds like that if you get a net loss, win or lose?
The books aren't balanced. If everybody had money on each competitor they'd get less than they staked. That is why gambling exists, basically. Nobody would be a book maker without it or else they'd be just as much of gamblers as anybody else. The bookies want the most money possible on the most people to balance it out and still get a profit no matter who wins.

You need to "balance your books" so that whatever happens you still make money off the overround. Suspending Cena betting and raising the odds on others is an attempt by PaddyPower to get their books balanced. If all they had was money on Cena they'd be betting it all that some other competitor would win. This basically means that EVERYBODY is gambling on Cena and nobody is taking anybody else. A Cena win would rape 'em.

That's not what betting is.....

It means you get the amount PLUS the amount you bet.

EX-Using your post, if you get $10, you'd win $5.66 and get back your $10.
Why? Clearly Big Show is going to win. Then they'll play up how it only takes one WMD out of nowhere to crown a new champ for months on end.

They would have just been suspending it temporarily before changing the odds. You can bet on Cena now, but he's an even stronger favourite (4/11).

Wow, you fail at betting.

Really good points made in this post IMO.

Gambling isn't a hard concept to figure out at all... it really isn't.

And btw, Duke is covering that Lehigh game every single time... the wise money will always go on Duke there... especially in Lacrosse.

you've never made a bet in your life have you? wait until you're 18, then put some bets on and understand how it works. jesus christ.
:lmao it's common sense though, you don't have to gamble to understand that your money comes back to you after you win along with the betting odds money.

Why gamble your $10 when even after you win the bet you will only get back $5.66?

This is the first guy I've met who believes even after you win your bet, you will still get less money than you wagered.
All betting has now been removed. I'm gutted as I didn't have time to get anything on :(
