Let's compare Drew's and Kevin's turns. Drew said he was preaching truth, but poor ol Jey had really changed and Drew was just jealous and bitter and took things further that they needed to be.

But Kevin? Kevin is 100% right. And Cody did deserve to get taught a lesson the hard way because Cody always gets what Cody wants these past months while everyone else around him is taking bullets for Cody.

So Cody helped Roman beat "the bad guys". At least that's how Cody, supposedly, views it. However what Cody did, based on Roman's speeches, is not that. What Cody did is help Roman get closer to becoming the Tribal Chief again. Which means: get Jimmy, Jacob and the Tongas under his command!

So yeah it will be very hard for me to "hate" Kevin Owens going forward.

If this was 2005-06 the crowd would be 100% behind Kevin and Cody would be getting booed out of the building.
KO's stance is actually pretty dumb. Cody and Roman didn't pretend to be friends, Cody didn't endorse him as a changed man, they wrestled one match together against a common enemy and split ways. Something he's done 10,000 times too.

Owen’s logic is that Roman is an Uber villain. There’s no reason to help him in his fight against another villain. Cody has plenty of other in universe allies to help him against Solo. He shouldn’t “need” Roman’s support.

By helping Roman, Cody is just proving that he is a user of people and a Machiavellian figure.
It was actually Roman who helped Cody though. Twice.

Any help Roman gets against Solo is simply puting Roman in a position to become Tribal Chief again.

Owens went to war with the Bloodline and I was at war with them, I'd definitely want Roman on his own and Temu Bloodline with Solo on one side.

Roman's end goal is to be tribal Chief again, which means he wants the Tongas, Jacob, Jimmy under his command.

So Cody helping Roman means he's helping him get closer to that goal.
How so? Roman can only be the Tribal Chief if his family supports him. Winning with Cody means dittily poo.

And according to Paul Heyman at the beginning when Solo took over and brought these guys in Roman did not want the Tongans in the Bloodline to begin with. There is absolutely no evidence Roman just wants control of them.

To me Drew's heel turn worked because his beef was with Jey. One of the guys who repeatedly screwed him over. Owen's is less convincing because his beef is with Roman and he's taking it out on Cody just because he teamed with him once. Now he's mad at Orton too because he's friends with Cody. If Roman is the enemy KO is whiffing pretty badly on who he wants to take out. Now if the storyline was War Games and Cody was asking KO to accept Roman as his teammate that would have a lot more weight to it but he freaked out on Cody over a match that had no effect on him anyways.
