I just read that supposedly Barrett is returning after SSlam, but your idea would be a surefire way to get immediate heat on him. I don't think they'd have a match (would probably be announced), but I could see Orton in a segment getting jumped by a returning Barrett thus igniting a feud.

I know that they're planning to do the videos until SummerSlam and he'll return after SummerSlam, I just want it to happen to help Barrett and hurt Orton, both of which are things I find absolutely critical for the well being of this product. I don't want to see a feud between them. I've already seen it, Orton killed him at the end of it, I have no desire to see it again. He needs to go straight into the title picture. All you need to do is one match. Barrett returns, and for this match, essentially plays RyBack to Orton's Barry Stevens. You get the punishment out of the way (or ideally continue it) and move on. I don't want to see a feud that A) holds Barrett down from the title picture even longer and B) ends with Vince changing his mind and deciding that Orton needs to be the top guy again and he kills Barrett.
Well a punishment doesn't seem too likely as of now. He returned and immediately squashed Slater (doesn't mean much, I know), and got the upper hand on Show (who is in the WWE title match at SSlam) after their match on Raw. It just seems if they were going to punish him, they wouldn't be building him up first. I could be wrong, but perhaps leaving him off the card is the punishment.Killer
