Orange Cassidy’s no selling and super push is ruining AEW for me.

So let me get this straight. He kicks out of a pile driver followed by a spinning tombstone. Then seconds later atop rope michinoku driver!??? I am an AEW guy but shit like that makes me change the channel. He better lose the damn belt soon because I can’t take 20 minute Orange Cassidy matches every damn week. I had to rant. Tony Khan needs to stop.

I will not be shocked if this cancer retains the title at DON either.

Booker of the year has to protect his favourites of course.

Since he defeated PAC for the title he hasn’t beaten ANYONE above the midcard apart from Garcia, Matthews, Bandido and MAYBE Jarrett and Lethal. Even those names aren’t much higher than midcard if we are being more specific.

He shouldn’t be on almost every week like he has been lately. The storyline of the reluctant workhorse who ends up overachieving and exceeding expectations has unfortunately been the most focused and detailed storyline in AEW these past few months.

He should lose the title to the last person eliminated on Sunday. OC lives to fight one more day…but one more day is all he will get. The last eliminated will challenge and defeat him on the very next show he defends the belt on.

To me this is the way to go here. And that match should be on the fallout Dynamite this coming Wednesday, putting it a few days past the PPV which best capitalizes on the "tired champion".

And that final person is Marko Stunt!!
I think this is the funniest thing for me. People love to go on and on about how AEW lacks SELLING, the wrestling lacks PSYCHOLOGY, there's no STORYTELLING.

Orange Cassidy has a match filled with all three of these things, and all anyone cares about is that they don't like the guy and don't want him opening the show all the time.

Just admit the truth, folks. You don't really give a fuck about any of that aforementioned stuff, you just want to see the guys that you like.
Not really the point? I think it was ridiculous the amount of shit he kicked out of from piledrivers to jumping michinoku drivers. It’s the AEW Young Bucks/Omega video game stupid style, « Let me sell some bodypart but it doesn’t really matter since i’ll be even kicking out of a bullet shot to my chest ».

Otherwise, OC’s had a decent run, would have made all his matches at least 25-50% shorter. At this point I’m sick of him, and more and more people are it seems, and he should turn heel.

Well, I think the point is that he’s in great pain but he isn’t going to give up, yes. The man who doesn’t care about anything actually cares about something so much that he’ll refuse to go down even as his body is clearly giving up on him. That’s the point.

It's a stupid fantasy narrative is the point.

Ah, of course. The old realism in wrestling argument comes out. Excuse me, thisissting, allow me to unstrap my numerous harnesses before I get into this fight.

Look at this way. The more kicks outs of finishers are spammed in a match the more worthless they become. Otherwise it's just monkeys doing aimless gymastics. Especially if it's a 160 pound guy kicking out that looks like he couldnt punch his way out of a paper bag.

Tony is the kind of kid who is typically unfunny and can't stop repeating that one fluke joke they made years ago that everyone laughed about.

Look at it this way, no finishers were kicked out of in this match. I do dislike spamming near falls in general, but again, it fits the story they're telling in this particular case. If you have issues with what the guy looks like, fine, just say that. There's no need to make shit up.

OC vs. Fletcher was a rare Dynamite match that gained from Q1 to Q2. In fact, the only match on Dynamite that gained in total viewers and had the biggest jump in younger viewers. Maybe Mookie is telling Tony Khan that OC opening is less of a viewership drain than what has often been placed there before? AEW often has a Q1 to Q2 retention issue, largely due to BBT crowd not crossing over to pro wrestling.

TK is said to follow the data and minute-by-minute numbers, but still struggles to solve the '9.30pm problem'. Kenny vs. Vikingo was one of the few segments this year that gained in Q7/9.30~9.45pm, and the drop this week was horrendous.

Truly can't believe with that roster, he's occupying one of the two midcard titles this long. Ridiculous.

He kicked out of a tombstone, a spinning tombstone and then a top rope piledriver. Shouldnt be kicking put of any of those let alone three in a row. The other guy shouldn't even be attempting the moves as no one knows who he is and he ain't the undertaker he looks like a small adolescent child.

Mysteriously so. Daniel Garcia vs Roderick Strong is Must See TV and the sheer tension that fueled the Lucha Bros vs. "Surely-Wheeler-Useless-won't-be-the-one-to-eat-the -pin"-BCC-match should have had people glued to the edge of their seats!

Two of the moves you're talking about were Michinoku Drivers, unimportant though that is, it might lessen your outrage. People have been using the tombstone piledriver since at least the 60s, they've been kicking out of it at least that long too. Gatekeeping wrestling moves is sad, having an issue with previous generations finishers becoming transition moves might be even more so.
I'm just sick of 20 minute OC matches knowing he is going to win. Especially knowing they're other wrestlers I would rather see. AEW is just getting too predictable.

But without any finishing moves that put people away it's just crazy carnage and folk flipping around getting their shit in. You can't seriously say you watched that 3 moves and thought yeah he should be kicking out of that.
