Orange Cassidy’s no selling and super push is ruining AEW for me.

It’s funny people thought AEW would be better than WWE and kill them and at first I was high on the company, but here we are 4 years later and AEW is going down the same stupid path TNA/Impact wrestling went down. at this rate AEW will be out of the picture in about 2 years. How do you have Kenny Omega, Bryan Danielson, Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, MJF, FTR, Adam Cole, CM Junk, Darby Allin, etc and cant make up a decent storyline for them and then push this guy down everyone’s throats? I like OC but he is not a main eventer, he should not be anywhere near the main event. He is the equivalent of what Sami Zayn is in the bloodline/wwe. A bonafide comedy act that should never EVER be world champion.

This is the only time I've ever liked Orange Cassidy, and the only time I hated Priscilla Kelly 🤣🤣. I wish Orange would have beat Kelly here.

To be fair. Small guys can work in a lot of scenarios.

• The slimy heel who cheats to beat a physically superior face
• The underdog who never gives up
• Comedy wrestlers
• Lightning quick wrestlers who beat opponents with their speed and agility, rather than strength

I guess the issue with Orange for most people is that no only is he physically timi. His gimmick is also that he's too lazy to bother wrestle.
Yet despite all of this. He wins.

He puts on a great show every week.

I think this is the funniest thing for me. People love to go on and on about how AEW lacks SELLING, the wrestling lacks PSYCHOLOGY, there's no STORYTELLING.

Orange Cassidy has a match filled with all three of these things, and all anyone cares about is that they don't like the guy and don't want him opening the show all the time.

Just admit the truth, folks. You don't really give a fuck about any of that aforementioned stuff, you just want to see the guys that you like.

They should have The Acclaimed open every Dynamite. You would only lose the cop demographic

Literally the first rule of any Orange Cassidy match is do everything you can not to hit him so his stupid choreographed shit can look good.

Where is the selling? I mean, literally the first thing in the match he got dropped on his head with a brainbuster, and he spent at least half the match selling it.

Where is the psychology? He worked a spot early on where he was trying to win the match by countout so he didn't have to get into a long one. He spent the entire commercial break working the count on the outside toying with Fletcher so he could buy time to recover. The finish of the match was a roll-up that followed all the near falls indicating he survived, he escaped.

And all that stuff is storytelling. The entire match is furthering the story they expand on with each defence of his title where he is getting increasingly worn down.

People can't recognize selling, psychology, and storytelling happening right in front of their face, no wonder they think there isn't any of it in AEW. They just like throwing words around to look clever, proving nothing but the fact that they're anything but.

I’ve been mostly happy with his reign because he’s a midcard champion that mostly has been facing lower midcarders, it only seems like he’s booked immensely strong because they keep putting him on TV to do a 15+ min match every single week, while he’s also opening the show a lot of the time.

If you wanna have him be champion for awhile, just have him on at different times of the show and don’t have him on every single week for a good chunk of the show. Most of the issue is he’s appearing so often compared to other guys like Wardlow or The Acclaimed.

Like I generally like the matches, they just need to stop overexposing him. I also think his reign should end soon, if he keeps selling exhaustion after his matches given this reign is doing a number on him, you should reach the breaking point soon.
