Top four? yikes, that could be hard. Last year was a total shocker to see someone like Joe do so well. Umm...well if I have to ballpark a tournament field and dwindled it down to only four: Styles, Hardy, Morgan, & Storm.

Pains me how obvious Storm is to do well in this. That's not from my usual bias. It's more from an "ugh, either push the guy already or stop using him in this pseudo-credible category that's so, so predictable." b/c it's old seeing the guy do well only to be made to look like a chump for what feels like the tenth time. You got to move on, TNA.

Storm, Styles, Hardy, Morgan as the top 4 sounds about right with the current direction with Styles getting the win and getting "the power back for TNA" at BFG which I'm absolutely fine with.

Throw in Aries, Park and Joe and the Series should be great TV

Regardless of the end result, the tourny should rock. It did last year on the majority. Daniels having those ultra fun matches with Bully & Magnus on Xplosion were a treat. Seemed like last year all of the stronger BFG series matches were the ones on TV opposed to the few slated for PPV. All of those were either average or bad. Finals was a disaster. Here is hoping this year's ends up being much, much better.

Man how do I forget AJ STYLES aka one of the two guys probably winning it. AJ/Morgan final wouldn't shock me. AJ/Aries in a semi would own. Wonder how they'll deal w/ the final four now we don't have No Surrender though. I quite liked the importance it got even if the matches don't deliver.

Just watched AJ/Joe from Sacrifice 2005, great match between the two of them, AJ/Daniels/Joe were on another level in 2005. No one better in the world than a motivated in shape Joe. One of the most unique talents in history and should've been a much bigger star than he has been

TNA iMPACT 5/20/2010:

Orlando Jordan vs Rob Terry - Skipped

Beer Money vs Jay Lethal & TNA World Champion Rob Van Dam - **

Shannon Moore vs Eric Young - *1/2 (Cool piledriver at the end)

X-Division Battle Royal for the last spot in the N1C ranking - **1/4

Sting vs Jeff Hardy - N/R

The opening segment was fine for what it was. But I gotta admit that heel Sting is awesome, I love how Sting always reinveting himself. They did good job with his feud with RVD here and Sting's "not gives a fuck" atitude is just great. Kurt Angle's return has happend here. He had a nice solid promo and basically said that he will defeted everybody in the Top Ten Ranking System,, win the WHC belt and be the best in the world. I like the Bubba/Neal feud, it's kinda the begining of Rey's awesomeness as heel and he's playing the crazy old man gimmick very well. Always thought that Neal is nothing special but Bubba is carrying him to good angles. Beer Money vs Lethal and RVD was fun but short. Sting wearing a Sting mask was hilarious. Desemond Wolfe looked like a bad-ass in the segment with him and Abyss, he said that Abyss will take Chelsea over his daed body, then he gave Abyss low-blow and actually CUT him with a BROKEN BOTTLE.... sadly Abyss just had to HULK-UP~! and ruin everything. I hate Abyss. Thanks god for Joseph Park.

Young vs Moore was meh. The X-Divison battle royal was your typical fun and short match. Kaz won while Flair was watching him from the ramp. The Main Event was short as well and nothing special. Overall it was a decent episode but I wish the matches were given more time because they had potentiel to be very good.

TNA iMPACT 5/27/2010:

Team 3D vs Ink Inc vs The Band - *1/2 (angle advancement)

Kazarian vs Jay Lethal - **

Orlando Jordan vs Abyss - **

Jeff Hardy vs Desmond Wolfe - **1/2

Mr Andesron vs AJ Styles - N/R

The opening segment with Styles, Hardy and Anderson was really fun. I don't care what people are saying - Anderson was great in 2010. His interactions with the fans are awesome and he was in better shape than he is now. The 3-Way Tag Team match was an angle advancement more than an actual match. The Band celebrating even if they lost was hilarious. I remember that the Kaz/Styles was fun, it started in this show and they had some good segments. Kaz vs Lethal was good but they kinda held themselves. Was shocked that Kaz won. What was the story with Moore laid out in the back and a playing card on him? was it Bubba or Sting? OJ vs Abyss was surpisngly okay for OJ VS ABYSS match. OJ worked on Abyss' injured arm and it was fine. OJ's in-ring work has been decent so far.

Sting is continuing being awesome and cutting a promo in the rafters while airing a video of Sting beat the crap of RVD in RVD's debut. Some midget kissed Lacey Von Erich. Wolfe vs Hardy was good, actually got time and deliverd. Glad Wolfe won. Morgan's promo was very good, he's such a good douchebag. Him calling Kurt Angle "little bald guy" was hilarious. The Main Event started out good but then ended. Fucking TNA with their short main events. They are throwing first time ever matches and giving them like 4 minutes. Morons. After the match Beer Money attacked Anderson, Hardy made the save and shook Anderson's hand to end the show. Overall it was a better iMPACT than the last one, good flow and good wrestling.

Standard big deal on a live edition of Impact. Can expect TNA to let it all hang out for the finals this year. Considering it won't be the second match of the night for either man & TNA adding grand emphasis on the match, etc.

I don't know if I would be big on that. TNA have been putting off this dream match for so long, that it really should be done on PPV, or at least in the final.

Makes no difference when it happens.

It was taped on one of the upcoming One Night Only PPVs iirc. So it happened. We'll just have to wait sometime to see it.

Nope.

A One Night Only match would be especially terrible IMO, seeing as those PPV's are just random matches with no backstory. I think Aries and AJ should feud before a match ever takes place, to add to the storytelling aspect of it all. A random, one off match just wouldn't seem fitting.

Ahh right right. Couldn't remember.

I don't see this need for emphasis on Aries vs Styles. It's just a match with two guys on the roster. You can think it is some big money match. But, it isn't. We just want to see them work vs each other. That's all there is to it.

This is how I would end the series:

(Live) Show One: Semi-Finals
(Taped) Show Two: Build for Finals
(Live) Show Three: Finals
(Taped) Show Four: Winner's Celebration/Confrontation with Champion -> Four Weeks before Bound For Glory

Maybe have an approximately 30 minute match for the Final?

It looks solid right there. I was thinking the finals could get a good slate of time. TNA seems to book their live shows in this fashion as it is. Shouldn't be any difference when the finals comes around this year. Only taking up lots of time for the match in this occasion would be a good idea. Although, I feel the live Impacts need to be worked out better when it comes to more roster exposure. That's a different gripe for a different time.

I agree, I'd like to see Joe and Magnus on the live side of the show rather than the tapings side. I like the X-Division on the taped side as they can keep the crowd excited when needed. I'd also like to see main events on PPV go longer once AJ wins the title. He's more than capable of going 30+ and I think TNA's missing that aspect when it comes to PPV's nowadays.

I'm all for variety. If TNA can use their roster in a fun, consistently fresher vibe than I'll have no complaints. I feel that is the one thing they're missing right now.

Lengthy main events for me don't matter much. Quality does. If a match is intended to go long, well I'll hope it is done in the right kind of fashion. Not just long for the sake of long. Aries vs Roode going 24 minutes in the Hardcore Justice match for example went a touch too long for my liking. When two guys I really love to watch begin to lose my interest, well I got to draw the line there.
